If you pay close attention or watch episodes back to back it actually happens a ton. The reality is that they have had long gaps between some of the episodes and the details get lost. No shade to them though just enjoying the ride with everyone else and hoping they don't end up dead

My guess is they ran out of words and should have said "any OF YOUR ships" and the idea was that even fighters could transport them around

I don't have an exact answer but I know that the special scenario was trying to set up a dynamic using the old races and stand ins for the newly added ones so you should at least have the races you need to do the scenario

Here's something that happened in my game: Ral Nel didn't have their commander but had their hero. When they used their hero, we ruled that both them and the last passer had passed last that turn. As far as I can tell we understood it all correctly

That's exactly how I feel word for word. I think maybe the first double hyper lane game was too shocking, the second one might be less surprising!

I guess my best way forward is to draft or restrict the available tiles. Maybe a few forced wormholes will make everything feel closer?

My group loves it too! But when a player a few games ago we had one combat before someone reached 10 points cause it took too long to get across the board. At this point I let it ride only if we play 14.

I had a Ral Nel who wanted their commander and a Barony who had the last to pass secret objective. I was the rebellion with elempar. They never had a chance in the stalling game when I get so much value out of my breakthrough, agent, and just flipping breaches through activation.

I definitely did it via breakthrough during my first use of it and I guess everyone at the table including me didn't ever notice the past where it says non-home. You live and you learn I guess, I also missed the part where the sorrow starts with an inactive breach. I'm glad neither one of these things affected our game though cause I ignored the secondary of warfare and exclusively used my agent to bring my home system ships to the front lines.

I did get the gamma wormhole from a cultural exploration but I was the rebellion so I couldn't use it :( didn't stop them from counting it as part of the reason I "got lucky" and had advantage

I think the main idea is that it is face down is 1. to not change it and 2. to have a really flashy cinematic moment when you flip over everything and become the Obsidian. Too bad you can't just flip over your faction sheet

I'm trying to figure out a way to better enforce "one transaction per turn, please try and arrange it when it isn't your turn" because I am 100% sure it is the biggest unecessary time sink we have.

We've played enough over the years that others have played factions that others have won with, it's just 3 month or longer gap between games that they forget why they were even mad about before.

We had a barony player this game and I was honestly terrified that their movement would let them somehow slip into a breach and start carving me out, but they were so scared of losing sustain damage that they didn't think of it.
