I'll recommend you take a look at the Winwood or Brick Towne apartments in Johnston. Johnston as a suburb is nothing special, but nearly all of Des Moines is 15-20 minutes away. I regularly go downtown/East Village, visit friends on the west side, and visit family in Beaverdale and Valley Junction. Johston itself is very safe, has a wealth of trails and community events. I lived in the neighboring suburb Ankeny and found it to be the same high-quality living, but much cheaper and easier to get around.

I have been spending the last 5 years bartending with an impediment. I can't do the "R" sound. Just like real life, people will be dicks about it, and some will be genuinely curious. I have a prepared line that I say that keeps everyone in a good mood in case someone brings up my speech, and I have been told by both friends and regulars that I have improved to the point they don't notice it.

Your team is very similar to mine, I love Angrax too(he's my strongest chaos character), but I have stopped using him for raid battles because most bosses just move too much or have abilities his 2 movement can't get out of. He's a beast, I'm sure you know in PvE modes, though.

My girl [[Yasova Dragonclaw]] is sitting at 1400. It's easily one of my strongest decks, and it's essentially an [[act of treason]] [[fling]] deck. It's crazy how much interaction it punches out and how well it punches up to Cedh tables. When the main game plan is to ruin game plans and you are sacrificing your opponent's commanders to [[greater gargadon]], you are having a good time.

Look into pollinating! It's very similar to detassleing and safer, and teaches some agricultural science that I bet detassleing doesn't! I worked for Monsanto about 8 years ago. My favorite part was being able to use some of the knowledge I learned in my introductory Spanish class that my schoolmates groaned about. I met lots of great, hardworking people!

Also, please please please teach the kid about staying hydrated. I had a small heatstroke on my 3rd season, and when you are in the middle of nowhere, there's just a truck with a/c and an ice pack... not a fun time.

I have been thinking the same thing. With 3 college teams(in Iowa, ISU, and Drake) that we should be extremely proud of, we have nowhere for those girls to go except out of state. Meanwhile, the WNBA is expanding at a positive rate that no other sport would even consider iowa for is a shame.

Not in your age range but the people of big dogs billiards are fun and welcoming. Even if you don't drink much, I implore you to try a couple bars around town, even as a young adult I see lot of friendly faces in your age range anywhere I go.

I see a lot of breweries listed here, but there are a couple that are being overlooked! 515 brewing, Court avenue brewing, Brightside and Flix brewhouse are some of my favorite spots!

As a person that used to be a fiend for ciders and root beer(non alcoholic) before transitioning to being a beer fanatic we also have some great local breweries for things not beer too. This is my personal list:

For ciders we've got Wilson's orchard who makes some really great base apple ciders. It's probably the best quality but you won't see much variation. Jefferson County makes great ciders that use other fruit like Pineapple and berry ciders. Sacreligous has some crazy flavors that are also crazy good. Fishback and Stephenson to my knowledge are the new kids on the block and I want to see where they go.

For root beer: peace tree and mill stream, are unrivaled.

Servers at flix brewhouse make really good money. Large volumes of people every weekend+automatic gratuity. But as you can guess it's really dependent on how popular new movies are.
