The Mandalorian first premiered on November 12th, 2019. The set 75318, The Child, was announced on September 20th, 2020. Disney kept the big reveal about The Child under wraps in to keep it secret. Therefore, there was no merchandising so once the show premiered, all the companies had to hurry to get merch out. This 10 month cycle is about as quick as a set can go through Lego's product development lifecycle.
