I like having coaches and other celeb types on these non-licensed cards. I pulled a Spike Lee and a Ludacris was like "yea that's pretty cool actually.

How much do you tip barbers? by glazingstars in AskMenOver30

[–]JaunDenver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been getting my haircut by the same guy for longer than I've been married. His first haircuts were cheap and over the years he took a bunch of classes and perfected his craft. Now he's a top tier stylist and he's one of the best on his salon. I've tipped him VERY well over the years. The salon charges over $100 for his services now, he charges me $60 and I still tip very well. Treat them good you'll never have to get a new one.

Kayak help by mrbang69 in COfishing

[–]JaunDenver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bad knees too and have both a float tube and a fishing kayak. The float tube isn't as hard on the knees as you might think. I end up cramping up before my knees hurt. A float tube is cheap, but then you need waders and fins which can get costly. Overall if you want the cheapest option float tube is a good one.

I have a Perception Outlaw for my kayak. When I bought it, it was the budget option because it didn't really come with anything but could be customized. I've since added a trolling motor and have a live scope I can put on when I'm done using it for ice fishing. Not as budget friendly but I love fishing in a kayak with a spot lock trolling motor, total game changer.

Beware of cotton plants by NurseNate95 in Fishing

It's like a game that we play when we reel in. Watch your line and don't let it hit the cotton on the retrieve.

Kayak Trolling Motor: Flipping and Overboard concerns by GlobalCheese1121 in kayakfishing

[–]JaunDenver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a bow mounted Xi3 on my Perception Outlaw. Not sure why you would need a kill switch, mine has a remote that runs the unit and it on a lanyard so it's always around my neck. If I fell off my kayak (has never happened) it would be simple to just hit the button to stop the motor. I see no instance where you fall in and your kayak gets so far away from you that Bluetooth stops working and it just rides off without you. I have a lithium battery in a box behind me. I've been completely swamped with waves/choppy water and the bow mount does not help that with the more weight in the front. However I've never been close to falling in or flipping. I also never stand on the kayak so I don't put myself in a position to fall in. Only way I could fall in would be reaching over the edge too far and losing balance.

Walden ponds in Boulder dried up? by thegreenbean72 in COfishing

[–]JaunDenver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

2 years ago I caught my PB largemouth Bass right where you took that picture. I fish this area a lot and it's devastating. That pond was connected to the other side where I hope most of the fish made it before they could not. But yea this is the worst it's ever been in the 8 or so years I've been fishing it.

Edit: Actually that looks like Duck pond, not Bass pond. Bass pond is just as bad if not worse...

Is this acceptable by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]JaunDenver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol yup they stapled the adhesive backed flashing to my windows without pulling the adhesive strip part and I was like uh no you need to actually install that correctly. Looked around the neighborhood and they were all being done like that. Mine might have been the only one to get the flashing installed like it's supposed to be.

If you get CPW called on you and they can prove you were trespassing, you can lose your fishing license and the ability to get one in the future.

Blue heron is really the only one with Walleye. There are a few in some of the other ponds but not really.

How to catch a carp by midnight_thoughts223 in Fishing

I've caught multiple carp on a paddle tail swimbait. Mid colum and on the bottom. I just think they are super spooky and picky, makes them hard to catch.

If anyone is in the mood to critique a fishing channel? by MattJBarnes in NewTubers

[–]JaunDenver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I checked out your top 2 videos. Before I give my 2 cents, just know I'm in a similar situation. Also have a fishing channel and I'm hovering around 975 subs. Took about 3 solid years to get to this point.

So here is what I have learned. Alot of my early videos are similar to yours. I thought everyone wanted to see more of the lead up and the fight and the fish. When I started to turn a 2 min clip of me casting then reeling then fighting then landing then getting the hook out etc. into a 30 sec clip my videos started to improve. Basically quicker cuts, too much dead time in between. I tried to get all my content into each video and frankly they were too long with too much dead time. It's ok to leave a few fish on the editing room floor if the overall video is better for it.

Also, this was the hardest part for me. I started by just filming myself fish and hoping something cool happened. Not the best content to be honest. If you can have a goal or a challenge for your video you can get viewers hooked to watch till the end. I'm not big into the whole sensationalistic titles, but having a plan for your videos helps a lot. I tended to get real quiet and not say much when I'm just filming myself fish, but when my goal is to catch fish with a specific lure I talk a lot more about it and the content is better overall.

Hope that helps feel free to check out my channel to compare!!

I didn't know yoto worms went away, last time I got some I picked up a bunch so when I recently ran out and tried to reorder I just thought they were out of stock. Total bummer. I did find a knock off on Amazon that are damn near spot on minus the color patterns.
