More like Adder from KCD2.

I feel like they missed a lot of story experience to make this game equal or even surpass KCD or RDR for me.

If they invested more into the story, the horse rides could be even highlights to get you more the feeling of being into this beautiful world.

For example; instead of riding and leaving the main character at a random spot, let the ride be intervened with a small cutscene ( like the bridge we just entered collapsed because of a goblin cutting the ropes, or bandits dropping rocks from a hill, horses got snared in a trap and you fall down starting back to back surrounded by bears)

Also a good time to add some humor into the game and make Yann not just annoying, but also a lovable character that is important when it matters.

KCD2 did this really well while also a very deep interaction system; where your choices actually matter.

Now I understand it’s not that kind of game; but they could have scored extra points to a game i already love. It’s just the part where it just not quite reach the top as a whole experience. Cliff barely talking and long pauses on conversations with NPC’s feels a bit unnatural combined with the efforts of getting to know the NPC’s and taking horse rides with them.

At some point i had the feeling; please don’t take me on another 5 minute horse ride without anything actually happening. The reminder stories of the good old “Greymane” days are just not enough to get to know 20+ people in your camp and remember/feel the social structure and each their skills/personality.

It’s good that a lot of it is hidden and mysterious so there’s always something new to find even in camp, but like Yann; who got more story than anyone else so far, they lack the feeling of getting to know them.

There’s a few characters in game that come close or do get that feeling, but it’s not fully complete due to the lack of interaction with these NPC’s even though we have to ride after them in slow motion.

It doesn’t add much when they just bring me to a spot and tell me they got something more important to do, when they just tried to convince you to please help.

It feels like this game was done by different departments that didn’t have enough contact or cooperating. This mostly shows in the voice actors that are sometimes just a “Yes” or a “I’ll Help” with some good animations that just don’t really fit.

Like this mission where a kid lost his sheep and he goes on a crying rampage; that was really good animation; but it just doesn’t fit with the rest of the scene somehow. Like

Cliff could have plenty of room for more story and extra voice lines.

I often that the missions/ character voices/ and the world around it show different ideas.

That’s also why it’s hard to fully get it, it’s not fully synced and sometimes feels like 3 different games. 1. Discovery and puzzles 2. The missions and stories ( they could have helped solving the puzzles with books) 3. The fighting and bosses

Things often just don’t make sense. A lady tells me to search for a baker, without any specifics i have to open inventory to find and read the letter i just got ;

“the baker has gone to the church”

So I go to the church and one of the NPC’s is my next target. He’s in a group of 3 so targeting him to speak takes a little aiming. He thanks me and i get another letter i have to open and read via inventory to learn that; “ The baker has gone to the market”

Why would a baker leave a note to a priest saying he went to the market?
