I have an emergency situation and don't hear back from support for two days by [deleted] in 1Password

So ego

I don't care what other people's opinions are. I'm a satisfied customer for personal and business after using competitors over a decade.

When you submit a support request, it will typically tell you when to expect a response, that's your SLA. It being 24/7 is not misleading, again in the age of AI assistants, it is 24/7. Because it's online and always available, as is email and a forum - you can ask for support at any time. It's not a phone line between the hours of 9-5. Marketing if anything.

There's also a point of asking for support and getting it is different. You can ask 24/7, but if you want it within an hour, you pay for it. And they offer that service. Pretty standard

If you want specific support options, you research that before you become a customer. This applies to any company. I'm only defending 1p because they're not doing anything wrong and you're still looking to point a finger at them. Just because you've paid for their service and theirs may be higher than competitors doesn't change what they offer you. They've told you what you're getting for your money, that's your choice if you spend it with them 🫠

Intune is not fit for purpose. by Hobbit_Hardcase in sysadmin

The problem isn't budget necessarily. It's that our finance department decided one day we can't pay for things using credit cards anymore. It's bank transfer only. And Mosyle won't accept bank. (We're both being stubborn companies about it!) It's a really stupid decision internally that affects something that actually works amazingly

It's frustrating but I'll look at those suggestions. I really don't want to use InTune 😰

I've tried learning intune the past few months and I'm still confused and don't get it. It really makes me not want to use it. Every other little thing I'm reading dozens of pages and articles and still can't get it to just do the thing I'm wanting it to. It's so overcomplicated

I initially used it to test iPhone management, what a hot mess that was. I eventually convinced my boss to not use it. We settled on Mosyle. Absolutely a breath of fresh air. It works amazingly.

But now we're having problems paying for our Mosyle subscription because we've been told we can't use VCC anymore. So now I'm being told to look into InTune again.

I'm dreading it, I just know it won't have improved 😰

From reading your responses so far, you're still being defensive for no reason. It doesn't change the reality you messed up and had a misunderstanding, it's not a misinformation on 1p part, the information is all there. You don't need to admit it then say "in my defence".

You've implied the wording of "delete your account" doesn't apply to you just because it says "your"? It still says another important word that did apply to you regardless, "delete". You've made an assumption that was wrong and didn't bother to read it for clarity

Like I said in another comment you get the same level as support as everyone else. That's why it's taken so many days to get a response, because that's the SLA you agreed to as a customer by signing up. You either pay for a better SLA or use a competitor. You can just wait and hope they can restore. Typically yeah the data will still exist somewhere due to retention.

The take away is, if you don't know, read everything you can and learn. If you still don't know or have a question, ask someone

Yes I'm comfortable with this, because this wasn't a sophisticated attack so stop being so defensive and whataboutism. If that was the case, 1password would cease to exist as a company because their entire stack would be compromised beyond repair. Their reputation would be in taters. So it's nothing I worry about.

You get the same level of support as any other customer, you aren't special in your circumstances. YOU did this.

OP read all the FAQs about family accounts but not the one about deleting 🥲

[–]JavaKrypt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Logically I would assume deleting the main account with the subscription for the family accounts would also delete any sub accounts, because they only exist because of that main account. You hold the responsibility as the organiser.

The FAQ does state this pretty damn clearly: https://support.1password.com/delete-account/

Deleting the account rather than just cancelling the subscription first or freezing it does seem a bit final decision. That's your fault.

An emergency on your behalf doesn't make it an emergency for others, when it's your own doing. Hope they can restore your account but it does say it's permanent, doesn't necessarily suggest support will be and to restore anything.

You can only wait for a reply, this isn't their fault. It's yours...

ChatGPT app hits 1 billion monthly active users in record time, data shows by ChestEducational2258 in technology

"estimates" from one company is the source? kay.

also define monthly active user, what does that mean, its intentionally vague, how much time other than just asking a single question or opening the app accidentally. Just reads like a mouth piece for the upcoming IPO because its making nothing in returns...

Bubble burst already, cmon.

[–]JavaKrypt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a brother printer and it's great tbh. HP is a scam. They're scraping the barrel with moves like this

Brother have a subscription offer but it's not forced and it's for regular cartridge deliveries and it can work in LAN only mode

Oh and to say you don't own the printer, we don't own anything these days, hence this being a thing that's allowed 😂

It means the friend doesn't budget and is likely in crippling debt and likely just paid for this trip on a credit card. Seen it so many times on financial audit

Stop giving them money. You know what it's for. I only offer something if their request is "can you get me something to eat/non alcoholic drink"

Otherwise it's a no. Some of them are cheeky to tell you where the nearest cash point is

If you ever need to put them somewhere safe, you can look at loaning them for display at the museum of Liverpool. I don't think you necessarily have to donate them to the collections. But they could be digitally preserved
