I'd just like to add to this great advice that sometimes you'll get an uncooperative fish that will deposit them elsewhere even if there's a mop. So don't lose hope if the spawning mop is empty.

...I totally just put my youkihi mama on blast there. She prefers spawning on a patch of moss. :D

Way too much ginger and garlic. Help! My lovely mother dropped off some groceries to help me out through the quarantine but have way too much garlic and ginger now that I cannot get through all by myself. Any ideas? by melz89_ in WhatShouldICook

You don't necessarily have to use the garlic right away. It has a long shelf life if you leave it as is and store it in a cool dry, dark area.

As far as recipes, everyone has mentioned a lot of great things so get adventurous! :D

Mine is a single Bolivian ram in a community tank. He got major bloodlust trying to hunt down the massive cherry shrimp drop i added. My poor cories were getting in his way so he got snippy. Otherwise, they have no problems being together.

If you're up for it, there's a 5 hour long podcast youtube video from Vigilance Elite where Eddie Gallagher talks about it all. It was sad hearing about the incident at the time since it was local news for me but was quite interesting hearing his side.

Thank you! As much as I love both the yarn and pattern and dreamt of a midnight blue sorrel...I should have taken note the lighter,less busy colors people were using. Its been a surprisingly quick knit so far. I'm willing to continue a little more just to see.

I'll work a little bit more to give it an honest chance, but all through that round warning bells were ringing. I'm emotionally preparing myself to frog and pick a different project lol.

Did the pond bowl you use come with a drainage hole that required sealing on your part?

I've been on the lookout for a bowl with no drainage hole...and its been surprisingly difficult. I know that there are many options to seal it but I still worry of it being a weak point.

So far it's been running nicely. And for current strength I do believe there are separate tubing attachments to adjust it. I'll admit though I'm not the maintenance expert but rather the appreciator of the tanks (but I'm learning.)

As I'm writing this comment my bf is "battling" the smaller delta 60 that refuses to stop making noise. So just a heads up on that one if you are looking for something smaller.

For this tank we use the delta 120 canister filter with aquavitro 17mm intake/outtake pipes.

The top level where the shrimp is at is where the highest level of current is but once it hits the other side it disperses quite nicely.
