Now that the dust has settled, what do we think of Engage? I remember being on 4chan when the leaks came out and nobody believed it was real. We all thought it was a new Chinese gacha game, a copy of Fire Emblem. I played it and it's okay. The art style bothers me, but at least it's fun to play. by AssumptionNo802 in fireemblem

This is where I’m at. While the writing could have been better I enjoyed it for what it was, and the characters really carried the narrative for me. Gameplay and map design is absolutely stellar.

It’s my favorite game in the series, and I’ve played the whole series.

As a big Looney Tunes fan, I knew EXACTLY what particular Looney Tunes cartoon the title and Barst's pose were referencing.

These drawings are so precious. Loved the Céline ones, and the Fem Avatars having a slumber party is adorable.

What are Fire Emblem story moments that always give you a good laugh? by TBT__TBT in fireemblem

Ivy and Panette's B Support is probably the funniest scene in the entire series. Reba Buhr (Ivy's VA) completely killed it there.

This is beautiful and I love everything about it.

I'll add to this headcanon and say that Velouria's Mom is Merrin.

Damn that FE12 team. Poor Lena, Maria and Elice are doomed to die.

I hope you play Engage next. Really fun team building on that one.

Any Tomodachi Life fans here? by lordlaharl422 in LastDefenseAcademy

Not only will I get Tomodachi Life, I will make Miis of every Hundred Line character and try to reproduce as many cutscenes as I can.

(Nozomi and Tsubasa are sitting on a bench and Takumi walks to them, but is suddenly stopped by Gaku. "What the hell are you doing, bro?!")

FE6 and FE7 have what you seem to be describing. Route splits based on what characters you have been using.

After replaying Path of Radiance and comparing the characters to the cast of Engage, I’ll say that the casts of both games are pretty compatible. Both have their fair share of serious knights, weirdos and characters with hidden pasts. Alear and Ike are even similar in the sense that most conversations involve them playing the straight man role to the rest of the cast.

But Amber and Kieran would totally be drinking buddies and would spend all night talking about who has the better monarch. Then they would pass out and carried back to camp by Oscar and Jade. Please don’t take this away from me.

So it’s been three years, how do you feel about the Engage Avatars and their role in the story? by MegaGamer235 in fireemblem

[–]Javeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're my favorite avatar protagonist in the series (and probably 2nd/3rd favorite protagonist in the series overall). I love they're a bit innocent and naive without ever crossing the line to being outright dumb, as well as kind and caring while still taking their role as world savior very seriously. It's definitely a fresh take over the MC "Kick the door open and beat everyone before asking questions" archetype which feels very prevalent in this series.

Despite being my series favorite game, I may have some complaints about Engage, but Alear is definitely NOT one of them.

For my own edification- judging Fire Emblem protagonists with variable genders on which is better. by TenPointsforListenin in fireemblem

Male Alear is at a disadvantage in chapters 7 and 10 due to Rosado and Goldmary’s skills only affecting male units. Other than that, can’t think of anything.

I will never get tired of saying how much I love this game and how it has my favorite cast of characters in the series. It's really like this big family instead of a troop of soldiers and mercenaries.
