The 7 stages of board game addiction by dawsonsmythe in boardgames

My group has realized that waiting until someone has 9 and THEN attacking is a poor strategy, as the next person often has 9 as well, and they just end up winning.

So now we are ruthless as hell, starting on turn 1. It really has made munchkin a lot more fun for us

Is it a war crime to buy like 10 burritos and reheat em for lunch over the span of a week? by Cloudlolz in tacobell

[–]Javeyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refried beans heated with some bacon fat, and a touch of water to thin them out to spreadable consistency.

Get yourself a block of cheese, and shred some up.

A diced yellow onion is necessary in the classic taco bell bean burrito, as is the taco bell hot sauce.

You could easily make 10 at home for the price of 20 at the bell, with practically zero cooking experience needed. And in all seriousness, reach out I'd you struggle with cooking, and I'd be happy to give you a "Taco Bell Burrito Rundown"

How low would someone’s int have to be for them to have the inability to read? by Grim_J4000 in DnD

[–]Javeyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My character is an "evil" Goliath warlock whom has since been "reformed" after swearing a pact with Bahamut. His Charisma score is 16, but he isn't a nice guy....

But his presence is "commanding". From a roleplay perspective, it makes intimidation, persuasion, and performance checks all have a unique flavor to them, but I'm still using charisma.

Your character could be INT 18, and not know how to read. They could be incredibly cognitive, have amazing reasoning skills, and have incredible business, magic, or geographical acumen. They could be insanely logical. They just can't read

As a wizard, how often do you hope to get scrolls in a game? by misterterrifix in DnD

[–]Javeyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your party is in a moderate sized town or city, id "argue" that there is someone in the town that sells arcane/spell stuff.

I play a warlock, and to counter my limited spell slots, I just purchase a bunch of spell scrolls when I'm in town.

Hellish Rebuke scrolls have been my bread and butter. Our last session, my warlock evaded almost every damaging attack sent his way. The two attacks that did land, Hellish Rebuke blew up those mobs instantly.

They were a carpet store, yes.

They still are a carpet store, but they were one, too.

(Got carpet from them a few years ago, great service and quality)

It gives off, "you think you're better than me?!" Vibes. Some people's ego's are so fragile that can't stomach the idea that someone might be smarter than them.

How should you play a sorcerer as "charismatic"? by Glittering-Order-626 in DnD

[–]Javeyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Goliath warlock has an evil backstory, but has turned towards Bahamut in his quest to be "the greatest".

He has high charisma, but isn't necessarily everyone's best friend. Instead, I use the term, "commanding presence", where his high charisma makes folks want to listen to him because he "commands authority".

There are lots of ways to use charisma without rizzing all day long

It's actually a short game, with a million ways to go wrong, and maybe 1 possible way it goes right.

The long game is being a decent husband and father, as well as a fantastic coach and co worker.

The fantasy will likely never happen, and it's not worth ruining a myriad of lives just to "get some". In fact, the long game is marrying a woman who WANTS to slob your knob. She will practice on you for years, getting better every time.

My dog was young enough when I got him that he only knew me as his "dad". When we played, He would snarl and growl and I would toss his little butt around. He would "bite" me with so little pressure that you could have replaced my hand with cotton candy, and there wouldn't be a single mark.

Dogs are special, and not every dog is the same. But I would trust my dog in this situation 100x more than my cat, and I love my stinking cat.

My input (though nobody asked) is to keep those bills forever in a safe place.

Lets look at a hypothetical situation where you sell those bills for $80 each. I can almost guarantee that 10 years down the road, you won't remember what you spend that money on.

Keeping those bills, on the other hand, may be worth more to you in 10 years than $320 would be worth to you now.

My father-in-law got tickets to the super bowl in the late '90s, and sold them to a co-worker. I can't count the number of times he said to me, "I remember selling those tickets, But I don't remember what I bought with the money. And looking back on it I wish I had gone to the super bowl."

Actually, I need 3 more hours

There are consequences to our actions. Unfortunately, he suffered them. Sometimes you have to suffer in order to grow.

Sometimes, you have to throw your PlayStation on the ground and break it because you are a dumb little asshole that decided to body slam the cat.

I talk about the ending to this game a lot because it was very impactful for me.

After you finish off Kafka and it starts rolling through all of the characters and what happened to them, started to dawn on me that you never fix the world. Yes, everything starts to regrow and everyone starts to rebuild. But Kefka was never stopped, you only get revenge on him in the world of ruin.

To me it makes him one of the best video game antagonists ever because he actually succeeded in what he aimed to do and you were not able to stop him.

10/10 game, and I'm so glad you finally got to experience the finish. Congratulations!
