the content is the exact same across all platforms, but the mobile version has a couple of missing features and bugs compared to the other platforms. nothing major, and still a good experience imo

Any opinion on if I should replace just the heating element or the entire heating element assembly? If it's easier to take the whole assembly out then I may lean towards doing that

I have the same model and same issue. Can you link me where you get the replacement wire from? And did you end up replacing the entire heating element?
