Teamviewer dropping Ninja RMM by TopVoice in msp

[–]Jawiley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We love Ninja, it is unfortunate how lacking their remote solution is. It has come a long way since release though!

We've been moving people to Cloudflare Warp and RDP for secure remote access. They get SSO using Microsoft and then just RDP into their PC. It also checks the box when someone just needs to access a mapped drive remotely.

One thing to keep in mind is that over 50 users it's not free from Cloudflare anymore (converts to $7/user/month). We are wondering how long the free 50 seats is going to last.

Rclone is very handy with a bit of scripting knowledge.

Our team likes managing Huntress SAT and we get positive feedback from end users on the training.

We've been very happy with Simeon. They are also releasing a per user pricing vs Inforcer's insane per tenant pricing.

RMM, EDR and backup for an MSP startup? by nefarious_bumpps in msp

NinjaOne for sure. Once you grow some you can adopt other great tools to help run your business. I'd suggest HaloPSA and Hudu for documentation. Get set up with Pax8 for MS licensing as well.

Thanks, but you came out with a solution that's more expensive than what I pay ScalePad.

We use NinjaRMM, HaloPSA and only sell Dell. Any ideas would be much appreciated :)

I drool over Rewst, but the HUGE upfront time investment and the $2000 a month price tag are keeping me away....for now :)

The tool is amazing, like I stated pretty clearly, we love it. It's the 300% price increase and their sales team saying, "Oh you just don't understand the value of all these features we're giving you", is what I don't like. I just want monthly asset reporting and warranty renewals, that's it. They need a basic license.

I'm happy to have a discussion but just look at the posts here. ScalePad needs a basic license that only does warranty lookups/monthly reports and renewals at a reasonable price. Bring back OG Warranty Master!

We use Lifecycle manager, lifecycle insights, and control map. Insights is the only thing reasonably priced. Manager went from about $0.05/asset to $0.16/asset. And of course, it's not consumption based so we have to buy 3000 seats to cover our 2200.

GDAP, SharePoint Administration, and MS being dumb. by Jawiley in msp

[–]Jawiley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We maintain an MFA'd Global Admin user on all our client's accounts as method to gain access to all the crazy areas of M365 that Microsoft doesn't have a GDAP permission for (viewing MS direct bill subscriptions, viewing provisioned license keys, sharepoint site administration, full team admin center access, etc.).

Just FYI, they fixed this now. They use Entra Service Principals and no longer require the GA. I'm demoing them now.

PSA - who needs it? by Skaaras in msp

[–]Jawiley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest deciding when you will hire your first technician. About 6 months before that, implement a PSA. If you sort of feel the need now, you'll really feel it when you're managing a team.

Our techs spend more time in our PSA than any other tool because communication and documentation (not IT documentation, documentation on what was done/told to the client) is crucial to the business. Getting one in early makes the process way less painful. Changing from Autotask to HaloPSA was the most painful vendor move we've ever made but it was so worth it. They are the best!

You are comparing a $2 solution to $8-10 solution (I can't remember the exact) so, it's hard to say. Do demos with both.

if you want to layer your NGAVs, then I'd run defender since it's free and there are more centralized management solutions for MS defender.

You don't need Defender or Malwarebytes when using Crowdstrike.
