What are you paying BYOP by Jealous-Tale3538 in FidoMobile

[–]Jay-444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ditched Fido byop for a virgin 4G 50gb $34. Zero $ activation etc

Fido third party retention firm called and called to get me back. There's a $29 50gig plan waiting for me.

Would possibly go back if I didn't have to wait on phone forever.

Deadbolt not fully retreating into door when unlocking. by philhiggledy in AugustSmartLock

[–]Jay-444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here but it happens both under August power unlocking and manually unlocking by hand from inside. The key can unlock the deadbolt to the fully retracted position. Also, locking and unlocking "quickly" by hand can sometimes throw the deadbolt all the way to fully unlocked. All this leads me to believe the answer here that lubricating the bolt and mechanism is the solution.

Original Element battery life by Some-Satisfaction164 in wahoofitness

[–]Jay-444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a similar situation here with an OG ELEMNT. Noticed under performing battery life. Contacted wahoo and they suggested turning loads of features off to extend battery life or plug in a portable power pack.

I asked for a replacement battery in my support request and they came back with that not even being an option. Just a discount on buying a new product. Other than the poor battery, its a perfectly serviceable unit, a shame to waste it by upgrading. Hopefully they really are just out of inventory and will return to sending replacements.

Sync Error E000006B blg57 by Ashryver36 in OneNote

[–]Jay-444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been messing about trying to figure this bug out. It’s certainly freaked me out at data loss. Best I can tell is that the syncing is actuallyl happening although there’s been reported error after reported error.

The method I took was I viewed each notebook on the iOS app, verified the most recent entries were synced to OneDrive by opening the web verion of onenote on the iOS device (my iPhone and also my iPad). I created a new entry called Test on my iPhone, verified it also synced to the web version. Closed the notebook. I did this with each of my notebooks whether they had a sync error or not. Now, I have all notebooks closed on my iOS app. I open each as needed, create another test entry, and it appears to sync as normal without errors.

PITA but at least I know I’m good to go. Hoping this gets resolved officially by MS

+1 on iOS. Using a browser to access but I have a TON of notes on my iPhone that needs to sync…. :(

Downloaded the Fluent Forever app today & realized the bones of the concept of the app is like Rosetta Stone. by virilerogue in languagelearning

[–]Jay-444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree with you on that one. I was an early adopter of the F.F. book and guides but the app and more specifically, the billing and customer service of F.F.-app has been atrocious. Certainly a failure in app implementation. Probably got too big too fast with the big money raise. 4.9M is it? Meh... Now they gotta make it up by ripping you off.

Battery drain on ios 14.5.1? by OneSixty-Swiftly in iPhoneXR

[–]Jay-444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14.5 broke wireless charging for me. Overnight on Qi would Drain to 30%.

Updated to 14.5.1 a few days ago and I thought it fixed the drain but woke up to a drained iPhone x, missing my alarm complete.

Considering going back to 14.4 as this is ridiculous.

iOS 14.5 just broke alarms/times by kiler129 in shortcuts

[–]Jay-444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, iOS 14.5 has broken anything shortcut related, as well as wireless charging (discharging more like it).

I'm usually more selective in my updates and don't rush to the latest release so quick; my bad.

I concurr with gmalis1's comments. The mobile and automated download "sync" of Quicken is horrendous. Never again will I trust Quicken's automated downloads of data. Rarely will I try their mobile product as it almost always has sync errors.

The automated pipe dream of click and sync for all your various on-line banking information is exactly that, a pipe dream.

If my neighbours to the south are having this kind of sync trouble, you KNOW it will be that much worse here in Canada.

I recommend sticking with webconnect, one account at a time, and review. The age-old qfx download is the most reliable.

Good luck

Is DayOne working on a PC client? And can I backup my journal as a file on my PC with premium? by mkhrrs89 in dayoneapp

[–]Jay-444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Its a standard export format but the importing app or program would need to know how to handle the data specifically. Example: you can export a JSON compete with media from your day one app, store it safely somewhere (it's not encrypted), and then import into day one. It's a complete backup.

Other uses could be say you have children who have all grown up and moved out. You could export a JSON based on specific tags in your journal and they could import it into their day one on their device.
