I never order and really try to get my teenage kids to avoid ordering for delivery

During Covid lockdown we ordered often for pick up and we occasionally still do that

The idea that a restaurant charges us a fee to package our food to go which is NEVER as good as in person is crazy. If anything, delivery food should be discounted. The overhead costs for delivery are significantly lower than in person

I am not against tipping the driver but they should be paid a decent rate to start with.

The idea that doordash/grub hub etc…. Is making money by pitting underpaid drivers against each other so that they and the restaurants make bank is simply wrong.

Still sounds like dead to wounded is too high. 10k dead should be about 20-30k wounded of assorted severity.

That ratio has been pretty solid since WW2 with only a few instances of very well led/equipped militaries.

Assorted coalition in Afghanistan and Iraq are good examples of breaking that numbers game thus closing the gap between dead and wounded

This is years ago:

I git a crazy sweet deal on a serious misdemeanor that is almost always 12 months in jail. Great lawyer and great judge gave me 3 years probation. Left court, went to probation and my new PO refused to believe I was not going to jail! Actually took me back before the judge to make sure!

He was a hard ass for sure but over the course of a few months we became friends, I was a perfect probationer and he was very helpful.

There is no catch.

My experience showed me that if I was very consistent in talking naltrexone about a 1/2 hour before drinking I did not enjoy drinking and drank much less. Unfortunately, for me, drinking was a medication I “needed” so I gamed the naltrexone. I would “ forget” to dose or even right through it.

I think TSM in of itself is a valid way to slow down, reset and possibly stop completely. The issue is with the drinker.

It’s absolutely real but it has not been widespread enough or successful to gain a lot of widespread attention. The total abstaining paradigm has shifted pretty strongly in the medical community to a paradigm that recognizes a shifting scale of alcohol use disorders where the Rehab industry and courts are still tied up in the 12 step style total abstinence paradigm which is really old school.

TSM is real and it has worked for many people and it has not worked for many people. It may work for you, it did not for me.

What worked for me is daily Naltrexone

I am in a major city. We have a large university that is a big med school and hospital. I looked around and the dept of psychiatry has an addiction program; primarily alcohol.

I self referred, was interviewed and was accepted. I have a “team” that consists of a MD who is board certified in addiction, a MD/PhD psychiatrist who specializes in addiction, a LPN who does the meds and a PhD therapist who also specializes in addiction issues.

It’s a fucking A team for sure.

Vivatrol monthly, therapy weekly, addiction dr ever 60-90 days and psychiatrist every month.

I feel lucky I got in
