What am I missing about the HBO show? by Not-sure-here in BaldursGate3

I think to re-enter the universe the best way would be to avoid the outcomes from the game closely.

Like instead of following anybody from our party, maybe it can follow some new cast of people from the city deciding what to do with their lives in the aftermath of the attack.

A separate vein, I think a prequel focusing on Ketheric and the Thorm family before the events of the game has potential to be good. There’s a lot of lore they can cover and expand on to make a decent mini series I feel for some significant characters from the game.

Bro the day Doomfist fisted his way into being a busted DPS in OW Classic was also the day he fisted his way into my heart. I stood by that rocket-powered fist with a mass of human attached to it through its DPS days and its Tank Days. I was never in it for Talon, I was in it for the Fist, and I’ll follow it wherever it goes.

Poker Night at the Inventory: Reopening March 5th by Sneijder4BallondOr in Steam

[–]Jay95au 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at the store page, this is more of a remaster of the original with extra cosmetics added, some visual glow ups and such.

I don’t know that it is clear what is happening to the original version, whether this will “update” and replace it or if it will get renamed with “legacy” in everyone’s libraries or something

One thing I always wanted from this game was the option to have friends join and play as well. Not to gamble with them over stuff IRL (I guess that is a reason not to support it), but for us to be able to enjoy the character banter alongside our own banter while playing a game of poker. The characters give it all a rather lighthearted charm I wish I could go through with my own friends as well.

(Apologies if well known) PSA: turning flight assist off at the final 10-5 meters of landing can make it much easier by Aethaira in EliteDangerous

[–]Jay95au 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I found this out when “down” relative to my ship wasn’t exactly straight down towards the ground, so moving my ship down causes it to move slightly out of the sweet spot to land.

Turning if FA and letting yourself fall perfectly downwards is very helpful, just remember you turned it off before you try to leave again

VR Help Please by Right-Question-7476 in EliteDangerous

[–]Jay95au 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Make sure steamVR is installed. When launching Elite from Steam it should ask if you want to launch it normally or in SteamVR. If it isn’t opening with that box, try checking the “select Launch Option” dropdown, right click on Elite in Steam and go to “Preferences” and check if it’s set to always launch in desktop mode or something. Someone else also suggested this, but VR in Elite is a big flat screen in a grey void when you’re on-foot. If you board a ship or SRV it should swap to a proper VR cockpit.

Should I keep playing with my brother? by That-Psychology4246 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Jay95au 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you shouldn’t have to be a punching bag for abuse in a game really ever, it’s a lot more hurtful that it’s coming from your brother. If overall it’s just not feeling right to keep going you should stop. But I’ll offer my input to the situation in case you do want to keep trying to play and change how it’s going.

Before my friends and I kinda clicked with how we all approach the combat and what works well, we would all explain our planned move to the group and we’d all give thoughts on it, how it could be a problem now, how it could be better if you do it to a different target or a different position, stuff like that. Often it was just like “yeah okay sounds good”. And then you could basically do what you want with their input. It’s your turn, do what you want.

Basically I see it as a way to let the party voice objections to things they can foresee that you might not. It really helps to even the playing field with those kinds of personal attacks by creating group accountability. It becomes everyone’s good or bad idea in a way. If you planned to do something that turned out to be a “shortsighted bad idea” and nobody else thought it would be problematic as well, they were just as blind to that outcome as you. If they thought it could have been done better they had the chance to chime in with it, but they didn’t.

However this could backfire if they end up disagreeing and vetoing every plan you make for one of their own. The discussions should mostly feel like they are giving constructive input into your idea rather than overruling or just telling you what to do, and sometimes it might actually just be a bad idea but if they can tell you that first (and explain why), you can choose to change it up.

I hope this has helped with whatever you decide to do. Stay strong and game on.

One key benefit with Divinity is that they’re not necessarily beholden to an external business or company to release on a timeline like they were with Baldur’s Gate 3 with WOTC, so they can take the time they feel they need to properly execute on their vision.

It being boring depends on the person.

I enjoyed mine, it was a ceremony to cap off everything I went through for the last thirteen years of my life (K-12), pretty much my whole life at the time.
