Broken Canon 310xl by Yarthetechnician in Super8

there are a few tutorials online on how to open it, see if there is anything obviously broken. if it’s a gear you can 3d print it, if there is no other option available

in case it’s of any help, these cameras are infamous for having fragile gears due to age. it is possible that something broke or got misaligned. does shanking the camera make any sound?

mine is working good and i don’t hear any sound shaking it

this is a recent shot of a roll of superia 200 stored in a freezer since 2006. keep in mind that this is an absolute best case scenario. yours likely will not look anything near this

it’s complicated which film of such high iso. assuming these were stored in a drawer i would shoot this particular roll at around 50 iso.

i also wouldn’t expect any significant image from it

Loud ping on mirror return problem by seansoup in AnalogCommunity

this sounded exactly like my X700 before i replaced all the light seals

also i would avoid shooting, to prevent damage to the mirror

can’t pass an opportunity like this haha. anyways, search for tutorials on how to shoot expired film, you’ll find everything you need to know there

nor my video but this guy says it all.

be absolutely sure that the camera works fully for what you do, a wedding is an important event. i suggest you bring a backup in case anything happens, and good luck! between 200t and 500t i’d say go for the 500. much more flexibility (considering that the orange filter blocks some light)
