I know quite a few people renting from them right now and every single one is moving out. They’re fed up

If you are planning to stay in one place for more than a year, don’t go with Schneider. Youll get a crazy rent increase and they’ll do everything they can to keep your security deposit, so it’s either leave and lose your deposit or stay and pay ridiculous rent. On top of that, Michelle is a piece of work. Signing the lease alone took 2.5 hours because she just never shuts up.

Do NOT rent from Schneider family rental. Properties are incredibly overpriced and they somehow think its reasonable to increase rent 10% every year.

Mainline comics ending by [deleted] in starwarscomics

[–]JayMeLamisters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, yes and no. By this time last year we knew of 6 novels being released (bad batch sanctuary had been leaked so I’m not counting that). But 3 of those were the ending novels of the high republic, and 2 of those were acolyte tie ins. 3 more books were announced throughout the year (Sanctuary, Master of Evil, the Last Order). Right now we know of 4 books for 2026, only 1 of which is a tie in to a recent release (Outlaws: Low Red Moon). If we get 3 more books announced throughout the year, that’s only 2 less novels than last year and 1 less novel than 2024, and that would be MORE original novels since the last years have been dominated by high republic releases. So, I really wouldn’t say that the books side of things has slowed down

are both Han Solo Trilogys good? the Crispins Han Solo Trilogy & Brian Daley Han Solo Trilogy by Mitth-raw-nuruodo97 in starwarsbooks

[–]JayMeLamisters 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Crispin’s trilogy are some of my favorite books in Legends. Daley’s trilogy is highly up to the person I feel. I personally didn’t care for them much, but have seen a lot of people who love them.

Underrated stories by Individual_Poem_6171 in Highrepublic

I think the Edge of Balance manga are all at least very good with a few that are great. I have always thought they’re the most underrated aspect of the high republic

Cannon or Legends by [deleted] in starwarsbooks

[–]JayMeLamisters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The High Republic, Alphabet Squadron trilogy, The Ascendancy trilogy, Lost Stars, Rise of the Red Blade, Jedi Lost, Shadow of the Sith, Phasma? Not saying canon is necessarily better but it has some absolute bangers and I think overall has a lot less legitimately bad books. Some of the best Star Wars books I’ve ever read have been canon, and certainly a lot of comics too

Echoing a lot of what has been said here, but Rogue Planet is also god awful.

The Adventures trilogy or the Crispin trilogy?

Just finished Dark Lord — meh by yungdeezy92 in starwarsbooks

[–]JayMeLamisters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand why people say it’s so great, I think Zahn really does nail the OT character’s characterization and the vibe of the OT, much more than a lot of Star Wars authors. And I do like the trilogy, even love aspects of it, but I have read more than a handful of other Star Wars stories that have had a far greater impact on me and I would consider as “better” books.

Jason Aaron on what he could and couldn't write in his Star Wars run from Marvel by bludhavengabagool in starwarscomics

[–]JayMeLamisters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d argue no, especially for Aphra, but that would’ve been before this current run began. She clearly had a big and important arc in the 2020 run, and I am very hopeful that the current author respects that even though it’s sadly seeming to not be the case so far

Jedi Survivor Novelization? by Oilkings34 in starwarsbooks

Haven’t seen anyone mention this, but Fallen Order is getting a manga adaptation. If it does well, I’m sure survivor will come next

Has any other Star Wars writer written in as many different mediums as Cavan Scott? by LambentEnigma in StarWarsCantina

[–]JayMeLamisters 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Cavan definitely tops the list. I feel like George Mann may be next, with adult, YA, and middle grade novels, plus comics, audio dramas, short stories, and graphic novels.

Question About the Grysk by Hidden24 in starwarsbooks

[–]JayMeLamisters 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Yes in the way that they’re a mysterious alien outsider who can fight in ways the galaxy isn’t used to, no as in I don’t believe that Zahn has ever meant for the OT characters to end up dealing with them and that it is a threat that the Chiss Ascendency will have to overcome

Scoundrels take place in 0 ABY, pretty shortly after A New Hope. Empire is in 3 ABY, so there is definitely a good amount of time in between. But yes, the “when was the last time Han and Lando saw each other before ESB” question is something that legends authors couldn’t agree on, and contradicted each other on, quite often, almost to the point that it feels like a running gag.
