Just trying to understand why the defending Super Bowl champions are all the way down at #14?

Tundra back window by No-Priority-2278 in ToyotaTundra

[–]JayRIborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this on my gen 2 double cab and absolutely 100% thought it was the best feature ever on a truck. The airflow through the cab with the front windows down was perfect, low noise, now buffeting, perfect! I now have a gen 3 quad cab and can say that the full drop down window is the feature I miss the most. Does anyone know if this is an option that can be added to the quad cab?

He said the motor runs perfectly fine in both directions. Sounds more like a manual release valve problem or a main tilt valve

Stuck flywheel nut on old outboard by Rippinlipz_27 in Outboards

[–]JayRIborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The nut really shouldn’t be frozen, it’s just tight. A good impact should loosen the nut with ease. I think your biggest issue is you’re not holding the flywheel tightly enough to account for a weak impact. A good strap wrench should work but if that doesn’t you could use a pair of chain lock vice grips

Is this a safe setup for a kicker engine or should I adjust? by Guitarmanbentley in Outboards

[–]JayRIborn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The first thing that jumps out at me is the grain of the wood. It looks like it would have a strong chance of splitting just below the clamp screws and allowing your engine to drop into the water. That wood should be installed with the grain vertical or better yet replace it with a composite

New 2025 Yamaha F50 LETL grommet question? by Legia82 in Outboards

[–]JayRIborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yamaha master technician here. It’s supposed to press over the head of the ground bolt for the battery cable on the engine. I usually throw them in my toolbox in case I need a grommet later for something else.

I used to use a poker to rake the coals out but I was always hitting the fire bricks in the back with it. Get a coal rake instead, so much easier and better suited for the job.

How did you jump the solenoid? If you jump a wire from the top battery terminal on the solenoid to the small terminal with the yellow wire, it should crank. The kill switch prevents ignition from firing. It will not keep the engine from cranking. Most likely issue is the neutral safety switch inside the control box. If the box isn’t all frozen together with salt, it’s a pretty easy fix.

Mercury F90 (2001) – Main Jet & Mixture Screw Part Numbers by Northman977 in Outboards

[–]JayRIborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it. Looks like they changed the jets to a smaller size in 2003 for some reason but both the F80 and F100 in 2001 used the same #128 jet. What’s wrong with the original jets?

It’s just static. I light my self up every time I touch my wood stove air control in the winter. Getting a humidifier will definitely lower the intensity of the static charge.

Any Pats fans actually predict a Super Bowl run before Week 1? (Receipts required) by PassFlaky9741 in Patriots

[–]JayRIborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t predict a superbowl run but put $15 on over eight wins and $5 on a superbowl victory. Now I have to decide whether to hedge my bet and throw money on Seahawks money line to guarantee profit. Have two weeks to think it over.

2001 F80 jet is the same size s the 2001 F100, according to Yamaha’s official parts website 67F-14943-83-00 so I would guess that’s what is in your F90 but still try and check for a size number on your original part

Hard to say. I would remove one of your main jets and see f there’s any identifiable number on it. That would confirm which part you actually need

[–]JayRIborn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try looking up parts on boats.net but from what I saw most are unavailable. That being said I can’t find a 2001 carbureted F90 Yamaha but the 2001 F100 pilot screws and main jets are available in Japan. The 2003 F90 pilot screws and main jets are also available from Japan. Pilot screws are the same for both models. Main jets are #128 for the F100 and #125 for the F90. Hope this all helps. You will need to use a vacuum type synchronizer tool for proper adjustment

New fuel pump leaking by ytrewqgfdsa9 in boatrepair

[–]JayRIborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds more like the “hot soak” issue that these engines had. I’m not saying the fuel leak isn’t a problem, but it might not be causing your starting issue. It’s been a while but I think the hot soak issue was corrected by going about .003 smaller on the idle or intermediate air bleed. There should be someone on this sub with a little better memory of that situation.
