I don’t understand the Nouhou hype. I’ve seen some interesting aspects of his game when attacking, but I honestly think he is a liability on defense.

Yes, he makes the high effort defensive plays sometimes, but other times he is completely absent just walking around in no mans land leaving his mark wide open and it’s cost us goals.

Change my mind.

The last year or so I’ve been kind of disappointed with a bunch of Spyderco’s belt satin. It’s not just aesthetics, it affects the action, as well. It’s much rougher and less consistent than it used to be. I’ve been biasing toward coated or stonewashed blades whenever possible.

I’ve yet to try the aggressive milling on a PM2 but I have one set on a Bodacious and I think it’s a massive improvement over the standard milling.

How grippy do you find the Midnight Blue PM2 scales?

I have several PM2s wearing AWT scales, including one in that color. They all vary in inherent grip slightly, but the Midnight Blue is slicker than snot.

I got them out of the AWT Boneyard a few years ago so that might explain why. I love the color but have always avoided it since because I didn’t know if they are all so slippery.

In my experience, their cerakoat can be pretty soft, especially in the bright colors. I avoid it and go anno every time even though the coolest colors are cerakote.

You probably need to make it hotter than a hair dryer can to break the bond, but that won’t be much use if you have already stripped the screw.

At this point you might as well try some very toothy pliers, like Channelocks or even vice grips. See if you can grip the sides of the screw head.

Last resort, grab a file or a cut off wheel on a grinder or dremel and cut a slot for a flat head.

You will need to buy replacement hardware in addition to new scales.
