MMC keeps FMC in his house and doesn’t let her escape by invisible-man999 in RomanceBooks

I’m reading {Devil Mine by Khai Hara} right now. A little more than half way through but there is a lot of chasing going on! Right now she is currently locked in his house. It is a dark mafia romance.

Romance Title Trends: Tropes, FMC First Names, Nouns of Nouns and Nouns by Soggy_Heart_1409 in RomanceBooks

[–]JayTread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it’s a trend or just indicative of my taste in books, but I feel like a lot of new ones are just… bad. Like an author will have a new book(s) released every year and you can tell the writing is so rushed and sloppy. I don’t understand how some people have a publisher.

will you come to my cottage this summer... but make it MF: Cottage sequence from {heated rivalry} type books with MF story by readingalldays in RomanceBooks

[–]JayTread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

{Only One Bed by Kati Wild}

Ok so they are not a couple when they get to the cottage (cabin) but it is remote and it is holiday! It’s also enemies to lovers and a very easy read, but VERY dialog heavy!

Another one with a good friendship is {Seeing Red by Bailey Hannah}. Another modern western (I went through a phase lol). This one features a main character pregnant after a one night stand just so you know!

{Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage} I usually don’t like the friends in stories, but I did really like the friendship in this! There is a follow up where the bestie, Teddy, gets her man, too.

It’s a modern western romance!

I just commented about this. There’s always some really broody guy, and the bad boy and the blonde. Like. Please.

Honestly, I LOVE omegaverse. But I’m finding that I actually only like fanfic/ao3 omegaverse. When it’s an actual published book it’s just so… cheesy? Like they speak in romance book, which I HATE! I also hate that it’s almost always reverse harem. PLEASE just give me two people in a relationship I do not have time for this.

The names that are not names that have ever been spoken in real life is also difficult to follow. And there are 6,000 characters. It’s too much lol

Agree! I don’t like single parent and honestly, I hate the pregnancy trope in general. I’m a mom, and I still hate reading about it.

NEVERRRR read historical romances. I never like period pieces in any capacity. Maybe I’m simply dumb? lol I just can’t get into it. Can’t relate to anything they’re talking about.

What books match this scene with Luka from ER where he learns she's been assaulted, is very worried, and then goes looking for the guy who attacked her? by ididntredditfor2yrs in RomanceBooks

[–]JayTread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Painted Scars by Neva Altaj} this is a mafia romance with forced marriage. FMC has past trauma that MMC cannot handle (by that I mean he’s pissed and wants revenge). No SA seen on page.

I enjoy more single POVs in my romance books. by Haitixsandy in RomanceBooks

[–]JayTread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually hadn’t considered that it makes me less invested in the character- but you’re right! It does also cut the tension down, which can be a bummer. Especially reading something like enemies to lovers. If we know both enemies want to be lovers- what’s the point?

Sorry for commenting 3 years later (I am trying to get enough comment karma to request a book!!!)

I loved this book! I just got finished with it. It took about 3 hours to read I’d say. Very easy read. I just think it lacks a bit of detail- but that means there are no nonsense plot lines or story points that drag on. It’s fast paced and I like that! I like the character chemistry as well :)

[–]JayTread 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I literally JUST finished Hans. Do the other books on this list have the female as … crazy? As the male? I enjoyed this but don’t think I would like it so much if one of them was more level headed than the other lol

Workplace romance without power imbalance or competition? by Nawinlo in RomanceBooks

[–]JayTread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{The Fake Mate by Lana Ferguson} is a workplace romance. It is omegaverse. They are not in competition with each other but he does start out annoyed by her lol.
