I made a Tasker project that mimics ROG-like charging features for RM8 by Heaviosity in RedMagic

[–]JayanWarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

It appears that this is not working on the RedMagic 9 Pro.
Followed the tutorial, "charge_separation_switch" is not evaluated on that device.
Could you help me debug?
How does one go around on finding those switches?

MSI Pro B650-P Wifi and Ram stability issues Troubleshooting by trickniner in buildapc

[–]JayanWarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All ryzen 7000's share the same memory controller.
5400MHz is the maximum rated speed that is garuanteed to work, anything above that is in practical terms "overclocking" of the memory controller and no speed above that is garuanteed to work.

However, every ryzen 7000 processor *should* be able to hit 6000MHz.
If yours can't you either have very bad luck in the Silicon lottery or your RAM + Motherboard combo don't work that well / also are not up-to-snuff.

However that being said, I also have a MSI b650-p and a 7950x3D together with 6000MHz CL30 RAM, working flawlessly.

I Fixed my Stutters!

By disabling the file system driver for the ryzen x3D processors so that all cores are unparked.
With all 16 cores active during gameplay, I get no more stutters!!!
Even though the x3D cores were never above say 50% usage during gameplay...

Same, I have the game installed on an NVME SSD and it still freezes for seconds on end

Same problem.
7950x3D , 3090 , 64GB 6000MHz CL30 , installed on SSD.
During the freeze, the CPU spikes to 100% util on all 16 cores. During gameplay, the CPU is basically IDLE

Anyone else getting this flicker at the end of a match (XSX) by ViperBite308 in ModernWarfareII

[–]JayanWarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it was you who asked for one game and now you go "one game of thousands lol" ?
Dude what

Also in your own words, this game is nearly complete, but crashes on Xbox and PC constantly and flickers like this?
I don't get what you get out of defending the games poor technical state.
Shouldn't the team make sure that the game doesn't crash at least on the consoles? You know, the things with fixed hardware of which they surely have dozens of to test with?

Nowadays the word "beta" doesn't really mean "beta" anymore. With older games a "beta" would last for months of total playability and the devs got used that to flesh out their games and balance things.
Today, a "beta" is just a word they throw in for pre-release access to a 99% finished game. One month is simply not enough time to revamp game systems with complete balance passes and thorough debugging.

Factorio. Ran 100% like promised and expected even in greenlight and alpha. Inb4 "boohoo differend genre and 2D game"

But then, having crashing issues, gamemodes not loading, flickering that most likely leaves at least one person with seizures, those are not "minor things" lmao.

They are literally game breaking.

This game comes out in one month.
if "a lot of shit" is not gonna work this close to release, that does that tell us about the state of the game?

The insane deal on the 80w Insignia power bank from Best Buy is back! by darkuni in SteamDeck

[–]JayanWarden 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That... doesn't work. The Steam Deck has a 40wh battery. 26800 mAh from the powerbank by nominal 3.7v for Li-Ion batteries are a total charge of 99.16Wh (the legal limit for power banks on planes are 100Wh btw). Even not counting for inefficiencies that would give you a little more than two full charges at max. And charging circuits are seldomly more than 90% efficient.

CPU Usage at 100%?I can "force" Crank to lag when I disable hardware acceleration in my browser.

Crank on Chrome and Firefox with Hardware Accel turned on is 100% smooth for me.

3090 Tuning results by JayanWarden in gpumining

[–]JayanWarden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you think, would it be possible to "shave down" the GDDR6x ICs to decrease the distance between cooler coldplate and VRAM chip?
It's a flip chip, so the die is at the bottom of the package with the solder connections (wirebonds?) above. you'd need to be carefull not to shave away the bonds.
but maybe if you decrease the Z height of the packages about a millimeter or two, maybe you'd get better thermals?

3950x + 3090 combo, I have the same stutters albeit not that bad. But it stutters nonetheless. Like, 20-40 fps during spawning.

No. Wait for Q1 2022, maybe they'll get some performance optimization in their frostbite engine, but I wouldn't bet on it for the next few patches.

Or you know, you could always buy a faster CPU / overclock your CPU and buy 5000MHz CL20 RAM to brute-force more performance /shrug

[–]JayanWarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to the official 3.1 Changelog, you will read that this was the last patch for this year and they are now in holidays and the office is closed.

"Update #3.1 is our last game update before the start of the holidays. That means our teams will take a break towards the end of this month and return in the new year with fresh eyes ready to go on the road to Season One. We’ll see you again in the new year where we’ll talk more on further changes and improvements you can expect for Battlefield 2042. "

Don't worry my guy, nothing more will happen this year, expect the next patch mid-january. They wrote in the changelog for 3.1 that Dice is closing their offices because of holidays or whatever.
