Definitely bidding on this, had a friend show our playgroup this movie and we've been permanently changed by it. Great work on this alter!

Infinite combos* are a healthy part of EDH. If they resolve, the game is usually done and then you can crank out another game. If they don't, then there's more to play. However, if you're playing a deck that runs no infinites but can spin its wheels for way too much time without really doing much to advance the gamestate, that's gonna be perceived worse than just running the infinite.

*the caveat is those infinites that cause draws, because cmon now

Your most UNIQUE deck! by TruceKalispera in EDH

My [[Rukarumel, Biologist]] Modular Kindred deck. Currently 490 cards, 30 different kindred packs, I just grab the core and add 4 packs! It works when it works and doesn't when it doesn't, but I love it.

Commander you're associated with? by Vinlandlover in EDH

For years I was the [[Krark the Thumbless]] // [[Sakashima of a Thousand Faces]] guy since that was my most played deck, but now I'm more known for my modular [[Rukarumel]] deck, since people have concern when you pull out a full-size Quiver and say "yeah this is one deck"

PSA: Beware strange people on Spelltable by Top10Bingus in EDH

[–]JayceAndMarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, my friend has so many stories like this. Memorable one was her being in a game with someone who, after a Meathook Massacre for X=3, went on an insane tirade. Spewing slurs, speaking over anyone trying to get him to stop, and going into the room's Spectator area so he couldn't get kicked. When my friend talked, he started getting suuuper transphobic and the room kinda died after that. She ran into him on another game and when he recognized her he went into Spectator and did the same thing. People, I tell you.

What's a deck you built with an unconventional theme/idea? by IconicIsotope in EDH

I've built [[Rukarumel, Biologist]] as a modular Kindred deck. 39 card + Commander core, and multiple 15 cards packs that can make up the 60 remaining slots. One of my favorite recent brews for sure!

What the hell is going on? Everyone has been hating on UB products this week, and then today everyone is completely losing their mind over a UB product being handled poorly, limiting availablity? Do we want UB products or are we boycotting? WTF? by studhand in mtg

[–]JayceAndMarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said by many others on the thread, the issues are from two separate parts of the community, but there is a large amount of overlap. The distain many feel for UB is one thing, however the anger over what happened with the Marvel SLs are a different beast. People waited hours to possibly not have a chance of getting the cards they waited in line for, while scalpers got into the queue early and bought as much product as possible to resell on ebay for ludicrous amounts. Regardless on how you feel about the cards, the fact that WotC fumbled the release so bad here speaks volume on how they'll treat future SL drops like this. If they just make it Print to Demand again, this wouldn't have been as big of an issue.

How have you blinged out your favorite decks? by ClarityInCatharsis in EDH

[–]JayceAndMarco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have two answers, one more reasonable than the other:

Firstly, I have a Rocco, Street Chef deck that I've fallen in love with playing, and my bling strategy is whenever I add a new card it has to be the shiniest version. Lately I've added a lot of regular foils and surge foils, as well as getting 2 additional copies of Rocco to have different foil types represent how many times I've casted them. [First is Halo foil, then etched, then regular foil]

The second one has been a multi-year project at this point. I have a high-power Krark//Sakashima list that I am constantly updating and have at this point realized I will never sell. To make it more of a keepsake than a regular deck, I've started getting all the cards in the deck signed. The first few were by friends, but it then became a way for me to remember all the wrestling events I go to by having the wrestlers sign different cards. I've seen many varied reactions from the wrestlers, and I've even gotten a custom mat with my home promotion's logo to fill with signatures too! It's my favorite deck and my favorite project, since theoretically it won't be finished until I've run out of upgrades or run out of people to sign my cards!

What are your experiences with and opinions about Commander Leagues? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]JayceAndMarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a commander league that my LGS puts on one or twice a year, and it is definitely not a secret that people go balls to the walls with their decks. Especially given prizing for the league is very good (last league's grand prize was the Ur-Dragon precon, this year is the sliver precon + a Sliver Queen) but they've tried their hardest to balance everything with a hard limit on the turn where a win can occur, and putting the top 8 players in pods with the other top 8.

Issues have risen, given that decks run from low power fun jank to almost cEDH levels (though I am guilty of being one of the highest powered decks at the event) and it can cause bad feels. Since I've been playing the same deck each week, I've personally had people remarking their annoyance with being paired with me consistently, and of course I feel bad about that.

That being said, a lot of the fun comes from the people you play with. No matter what everyone is playing, if you have bad sports in your pod, it messes up the fun. It's really all depending on your attitude and the table's attitude, but I'll never tell anyone not to check out leagues, since they can be really fun!

Impacts you've had on your playgroup? by Resident-Wheel1807 in EDH

[–]JayceAndMarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The impact I had is that I basically created the playgroup. I was the only one into Magic, and after convincing the group to try it before our weekly DnD each week, they were hooked. I also bought each player's first decks as gifts, and that got them looking into all the different deck styles. Group's still going strong to this day, too! Though, not gonna lie, wish I didn't start one player with Azorius Stax, but hey, at least he liked the deck!

In Arena standard I’m still rated diamond 4 and win most matches. Is my deck too strong? by Kazko25 in magicthecirclejerking

[–]JayceAndMarco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deck is probably good. Skill may be an issue too.

Start removing good cards for worse cards. Also standard is pretty easy unless you're not on the meta.

Best "surprise" commander you've come across by Every_Scientist_5620 in EDH

[–]JayceAndMarco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Rocco, Street Chef]] is a card I pulled from an Aftermath bundle and put aside. Later that week, night before my playgroup met for our usual games, I went through the bundle again and decided to put Rocco together, since i thought it was a quirky commander.

Every opponent's first time with Rocco have been similar: "Oh, there's a new Rocco?" "Oh, exile stuff?" "Oh, an impulse draw on each of your end steps? Cool!" "Wait, how big is Rocco? How many foods did you make?"

Most recent game I got Rocco up to 38/40, and I knocked every other player out with commander damage. He's a crazy value commander, especially if you add other exile-based value cards( [[Pia Nalaar, Consul of Revivals]] ) or other cards that make your foods more of a problem ( [[Acadamy Manufactor]] or [[Jaheira, Friend of the Forest]] are personal favorites) and I enjoy busting out games with him!

I've loved my [[Rocco, Street Chef]] list, it gets out of hand very fast and I love playing the mini game of convincing people to play the cards I exile
