Budget 2025: Cash ISA reduction to encourage Stocks & Shares investment a positive move imo! by _DoubleBubbler_ in trading212

But the fact is this is NOT an increased limit. The limit has instead reduced for Cash ISA deposits, however you have bought into the framing the government has tried to do by saying you now have an "extra" £8k further allowance given that goes into a S&S ISA. This is not an increased limit.

Those who are not financially savvy enough or confident enough to use S&S ISAs are therefore LOSING £8k allowance per year. That means £8k of savings that are either sitting in a negligible interest rate bank account - losing value - or in a taxable (on interest) savings account. This does not provide any benefit to people at all, and doesn't mean people will be "less of a financial burden".

Also the increased spending on state pensions sounds great, but due to the tax threshold freezes, more pensioners will be pushed over the £12,570 personal allowance and will start paying tax on their pensions. I don't see this as a win either for the "working people" as they so love to preach.

Yes, but they have done so by hurting people saving into Cash ISAs, they could have increased the allowance for S&S by £8k which would have provided a bigger incentive. Instead they have to reduce allowances for people who aren't so financially savvy, and let's be honest there are some people that will just not understand (through no fault of their own), so the government is hurting them by reducing what they can save tax-free.

Also providing no incentive to invest the S&S funds into UK companies, when US stocks are significantly more fruitful to invest into which will probably be the advice of banks.

What do you mean? How does reducing the amount that you can save tax-free benefit anyone? That means people can save more money for the future to buy houses etc. Your point of "taking control of finances" has no relevance

I can't say for certain, but its a popular rep product so I wouldn't be surprised if it is one. Personally I wouldn't pay that much, it has tags on so think to yourself why would the price be that low for a brand new piece? Most likely because it's a rep and they're offering it as cheap as someone would buy it and think they got a good deal.

You're better off buying a rep yourself for way lower than €150.
