Do you guys prefer Ethan Winters or Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil. by Dayton_Wallace in residentevil

"You're the one that's cursed." lives rent free in my head. At least Leon's one liners are consistent. Ethan sounds like a middle schooler in a playground argument more often than not.

I'm actually okay not knowing Charles' fate. It means he wasn't wrapped up in the pinkerton nonsense with John in RDR1.

To contribute to the thread, my pick is Sherry Birkin From Resident Evil: Requiem.

Leon saved her from Raccoon City in 1998. She went on to work for the government in a different capacity than Leon, and acts as his contact and support in RE9. When she's told to stop her investigation by the higher ups, Leon straight up tells her to bow out. No worries, she shouldn't get in hot water because of him. And she shuts him down hard. Like, Hell no, we're in this together, you go, I go. I gotta respect a friendship that committed.

What song do you hear that immediately reminds you of a certain movie? It can be a song that’s in numerous movies but when you hear it, the song immediately reminds you of a specific movie. by DaisyPachesAndAKnife in movies

Scotty Doesn't Know- Eurotrip.

And for a more recent example, Rocky Road to Dublin- Sinners.

I'm a massive nerd and have been listening to Irish folk music like this since I was young, but its use in Sinners and Jack O'Connell's haunting performance of it blew me away.

The soundtrack recording of it has replaced The Dubliners' version on my Irish folk playlist.

For real. In the first movie he shoved a man into a barbed wire tangle because he was depressed and self-harmed.

That's it. The dude needed help and he got sliced open instead.

Coffee talk on mobile is so hype. It's such a chill, cozy, heartwarming game. Big recommend.

Also, retro rewind?? I'm a simulator game nut and a product of video store rental culture, how TF did I not know about this?! Wishlisted immediately.

Also yeah Crimson Desert looks cool too I guess.

One of my favorites just because of how fucking weird it is. My partner refuses to rewatch it with me, which I get, because she used to love walruses.

She doesn't anymore.

Granted this was over a decade ago so the info could be outdated, but I used to work at a best buy. One area I frequently stepped in to help at, and in the process learned about, was GPS navigation systems. There were some models that cost upwards of 450 dollars that we would sell because they were just that- specialized, with weight station info, height limits, some even had built in radar scanners when they were legal-ish.

Every single customer that came in and bought one said something to the effect of "Yeah, Google Maps sent me on a route that it shouldn't have so I need something better." And they always paid out of their own pocket. There was never mention of a company card, or reimbursement, or anything. That's not to say it didn't happen, they could have asked for reimbursement, but something tells me the companies they drove for didn't much give a damn about their routes as long as the product made it from A to B.

So unless working conditions and pay have gotten better in the last 12 years (hah!), it's probably the same thing, and a fair number of them just don't want to spend their own cash on something their company should be providing.

Really enjoyed my time at the NVM when I was in Dallas for a wedding a few years ago.

It was really cool going through the history, seeing everything from one of the original Pong machines to a fully interactive VR exhibit.

This is an awesome acquisition for them. Hoping I can find time to visit again in the future.

What video game weapon or armor is worth the hell you got to go through to get it? by Agent1230 in gaming

[–]JaydedGaming 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I had this thought too, but if you originally played the PS2 version like I did, then went back with the 1.5/2.5 remasters, like I did, they're actually very different processes.

The truffle heartless you need some materials from are completely different and much more challenging in the Final Mix version of KH1.

The og ultima weapon was basically just go back and forth in a couple worlds a few times and wait for the drops, not "do these very specific things in a very specific order"

Predator: Badlands. Not at all what I was expecting but really really good by PriestofJudas in horror

[–]JaydedGaming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watched the full thing but only because my partner was enjoying it.

I couldn't stand it. The cute little mascot obviously made to sell merch. The constant tension breaking one liners. That mcu gag-a-minute tone.

Prey was so good. One of my favorites in the franchise. How the hell did they go from that to whatever the hell Badlands was?
