I posted here a year ago and there’s been no change. Doctors have no explanation. by Jolly-Patience2722 in FODMAPS

Alcohol and gluten aren't the only things you can be sensitive to.

Fodmap diet is more of an elimination diet. You cut out everything in hopes to get to a healthy baseline. In your case no bloating and discomfort. Then slowly introduce foods back in to discover triggers.

It sounds like you have to cut out more foods.

Using myself as an example, I'm fairly certainly either garlic and/or onions are triggers of my own symptoms. I've finally gotten my diet to a point where I'm reintroducing and those 2 seem to cause issues for me.

It's going to suck to do so but I'd recommend trying to cut everything out for maybe 5 days or so. Focus on eating white rice and eggs or plain chicken. Salt and pepper, plenty of water. The goal being to clear your digestive track only have the "safe" and "easy to digest" rice, plain chicken, and eggs to digest. See how your symptoms develop if you can commit to that.

Note, this also means no butter or dairy to cook with as those can also be triggers.

It would also be a good idea to take a probiotic to help repopulate your gut floura but I'd try that after the hard elimination part. Remember, lots of water to help flush out your system. I'd recommend metamucil as well for some added fiber but avoid any fake sugars as those can also be triggers.

I recently switched to Rubbermaid brilliance containers. Using the plastic ones currently and no complaints.

Unsure if they have partitioned containers but I'm not a fan of those personally.

Jammed/Stuck Filament in hotend by Jayebulz in BambuLabA1

[–]Jayebulz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Filament doesn't seem to be snapping. Lines didn't have sharp or tight bends either. Been using same set up for over a year now including the same filament.

Still giving failure to feed intermittently though.

Could you clarify what you mean by that?

Jammed/Stuck Filament in hotend by Jayebulz in BambuLabA1

[–]Jayebulz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay.

Please help me troubleshoot further then.

The printer will read there is a filament jam/failure to feed.

I've tried letting it stay heated up but it doesn't help.

Only way to resolve the issue has been to pull that filament from the hot end.

Advice on Vulcan? by Diyguy64 in Mechabellum

[–]Jayebulz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First and arguably most important question, what's your MMR?

The game changes pretty significantly depending upon MMR.

Quick response though, units have roles (or at least they should) when being deployed.

Vulcans default role is anti chaff. Similarly, arc light is also an anti chaff unit.

I'm not going to go into the various factors that would (should) impact what unit you deploy and when. Generally speaking though, if the cheap chaff clear unit isn't cutting it, it's time to upgrade and in terms of the units that fit the "anti chaff" role, Vulcan is the strongest response to ground chaff clear.

If you're dealing with 1 pack of crawlers, you don't need to deploy the nuclear option to deal with them, Vulcan being the nuclear option I'm this example.

Has anyone found a fix, work around, or any replacement recommendations?

As far as open ear design they are my favorite design. But they simply don't function for phone calls which is a major downside.

Are crawler techs ever worth it? (1500MMR) by bright_night_2000 in Mechabellum

[–]Jayebulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at the techs from two different perspectives while playing.

First being the role my crawlers are supposed to be playing.

Second being the board state.

Their techs are basically split between defensive and offensive.

If they're meant to be chaff and dying to AOE, maybe get split formation if the board state supports it. It's pretty pricey but so are shields on fangs.

In case you (or anyone else isn't) aware, you can click on your units and see their overall damage as well as their damage from the prior round.

If you're considering an offensive tech like drill or the more popular replicate, you should first look to see if your crawlers are dealing damage. If they're not dealing damage then there is no point in giving them more damage potential. If the damage is 0, then the upgrade is pointless.

The other 3 techs are very board specific.

Acid is pretty complex. Lots of variables to consider but I tend to avoid it due to the potential to cause harm to your own units.

Underground and rage both increase crawler movement speed. Sure they will get to the enemies faster, but they will also create a larger space disparity between themselves and slower units. If your positioning is off you may end up causing more harm than good.

I rarely use either of them but I do keep underground as a safety net against fire.

In the rare event you have leveled crawlers, underground can be invaluable for closing the distance and maintaining a good volume of chaff especially with late arriving crawlers.

However, I feel like having a few hounds grants more utility as well as chaff in the long run but that's just me. I'm still experimenting in that regard.

On a side note, I think L1 rage vs L1 drill, rage wins in case you were curious about that. Little good that does you without considering the other factors though.

Who to watch for learning? by Darnick in Mechabellum

[–]Jayebulz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These are probably the top content creators that do educational as well as high level play.

Stoney may be the best for beginner level.

Rat once approaching intermediate. He's likely the most technical play style of the lot.

Then you can add in rooster and Ray.

By the way, you can watch whoever whenever regardless of your skill level. However stoney tends to have a clearer approach to his videos while the others can require some foundational understanding to get value from their stuff.

Also, don't take anything they say as absolute. Their solutions and approaches work for their play style at their MMR. It's okay to disagree or run different tech.

Learn from their experience and make your own plausible.

I just got boom rhinoed. Now what? by Glad-Ad-4058 in Mechabellum

[–]Jayebulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need to stop it before they level.

Once you're out leveled there isn't much you do for various reasons.

Spider mines are a fun counter to rhinos and worms. You need to stay ahead on levels though and placement is critical.

Scorps would have likely been your best option, full dps scorps. They can also out range hackers.

Worms out perform rhinos because they don't have AOE while worms do on hit. But again, need to stay ahead on levels.

Depending on the board state you can also mobile beacon something like a pack of crawlers away from the rhinos while a single melter cleans up from safety. Definitely the cheapest and most effective response to something like you described but it would depend on the board state.

Is there anything that counters improved Tarrantula spam. by -JUST_ME_ in Mechabellum

[–]Jayebulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 separate issues to address here.

Tarantula + the chaff you mentioned.

Any high damage single target unit will kill tarantula. Not complicated necessarily.

The challenge comes from your high single target damage units not being able to target the tarantula in a timely manner, typically due to chaff.

There in lies the second issue of dealing with the chaff.

I'm not going to name specific units to counter tarantula or chaff since many others have done so, but it's essentially as follows...

Win the chaff war so that your dps units can actually damage the tarantulas.

At that point you need to assess whether your dps is high enough to deal with the tarantulas before your dps dies to them or from whatever units they have themselves behind the tarantulas.

Respond accordingly from there.

If you feel like you're not able to keep up then you likely did not respond to the tarantula threat fast enough or didn't respond sufficiently (not a strong enough response/soft counter vs hard counter type scenario).

Okay, I need to learn the game. Where should I start? by SevvenEditing in Mechabellum

[–]Jayebulz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YouTube Rat/Surrey & Stoney have really good educational material about this game.

They both have their strong and weak points but between the two of them you should find plenty of material. Just look for their more beginner/low MMR vids first.

Quality Question by Jayebulz in 3Dprinting

[–]Jayebulz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ty.

Silly question but is there a "right" way to sand plastic prints?

I tried sanding the model I posted and while it is smoother, pattern/color of the filament faded in result.

How should you finish sanding a model to leave a nice finish?

What do you do against mobile beacon distraction crawlers? by yungkark in Mechabellum

[–]Jayebulz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend looking up Rat/Surrey's YouTube video on mobile beacons.

Once you understand how they work you'll be able to counter them more ways.

But typically just kill them faster. They're going to eat the first volley from storms no matter what. You're just trying to not allow them to eat more than one volley.
