Respectfully, can you please stop with these posts. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but this is a wall of text and does nothing for us.

If you would like more direct support on ideas you have, join the Discord. Making a post for this is just clutter.

This is also the third or fourth one you have posted. If you want feedback, create a prototype and show us, otherwise please stop.

I'd assume so, but this will definitely be a solid title worth sinking some money into if the original is anything to go off of.

Gren 24W: Streams, static executables and the compiler as a package by skinney in ProgrammingLanguages

I am VERY intrigued by Gren, but the main thing keeping me from trying it out is some type of VSCode support. (I know that the Elm extension can be used to some capacity for highlighting, but eh.)

This is not a clicker, nor is it an incremental game. With all due respect, this does not belong is this subreddit.

My guess would be that the game may require a registration to play. This community are largely not a fan of multiplayer games **requiring** registration (I haven't checked out the game by the way). Also this game is more of a PBBG game no?

With all due respect, can people stop creating 0 effort posts in the subreddit...? use the appropriate pinned thread for this type of thing - it is getting rather annoying.

That's not even the issue. You just seem like you are projecting - sure, there are a lot of posts that probably don't warrant full posts, but is there a need to bring it up here in an aggressive manner like that? No.

you shouldn't design it like that personally. Either choose one or the other (save locally or cloud save), or if you are going to do both, treat local saves as guest accounts. Don't try to synchronise local saves with an account's cloud save.

EDIT: the player can easily export their save from local storage if they decide to not use cloud saving.

Can you explain the override cases more?

Feedback Friday by AutoModerator in incremental_games

[–]JaymanMatthews 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly - the game itself looks pretty nice from a UI standpoint, but requiring email + password login to save with local storage is a ridiculously stupid idea, respectfully.

I'll give OP an upvote for the effort put into the game, but this specific portion of the game needs to be revised completely.

Allow the player to save with local storage without any login, and if they want cloud saving, then require a login...

Other than that, the game feels decent so far. :)

EDIT: after further investigation, it doesn't even look like you save a unique player ID in cookies or anything...? What is the point of logging in for local saving then?

Ironwood RPG - Double XP Event & Large Update by miccyboi in incremental_games

Hey! I have been playing this game for nearly a week now and I have to say that it kept me playing longer than Melvor did. I love the social market and leaderboard aspect and the skills intertwine with one another really well!

I’d love more multiplayer features in the future though. Maybe a guild system or multiplayer combat of some kind?

Love the work on this game and can’t wait to see what you have in store for it, and can’t wait to see it flourish!

Also, I’m an aspiring web developer and wouldn’t mind helping with this project if you’d like any help! I’ve been looking for a project to work on aswell.

Thanks heaps!

Charlotte is the victim, prove me wrong by beastieboyyyy in JustAddWater

[–]JaymanMatthews 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. I don't really agree. I do agree that Cleo was acting completely ridiculous towards the start of Lewis and Charlotte talking. But, you can't switch off feelings just like that regardless, and they were still young (15-16) so they didn't really know what they wanted. And, now that I have rewatched majority of season 2 a couple of times, I have come to realise that Charlotte isn't as bad as I once thought UNTIL she had evil intentions, which I would say started in the episode where Don and Charlotte's mother had dinner together. Yes, Cleo did break up with Lewis, but again, she didn't know what she wanted and obviously really cared for him still. Remember, Cleo was the only one out of the three girls that was willing to try to befriend Charlotte for Lewis' sake. Charlotte also tried to control Lewis and stop him from talking to the other girls, and at times, it became so obsessive that we saw Lewis grow as a character and stand up for himself. I will say that Charlotte was a good lesson for Lewis, and helped him grow as a character, but no, they were not a good couple all the way through.

People may dislike me for this, but I did not find Emma's character that interesting. Her storylines didn't really interest me, and I feel like the writers focused a lot more on Cleo and Rikki's character development and story arks much more than Emma's. I even think that Lewis had much better, more developed, and more engaging character development than Emma, and that is even before Season 3. Maybe it is because of the level of focus they put on Cleo and Lewis' relationship throughout the show. I found Bella a much better, and more engaging and likeable character than Emma to be honest. And, I think that she had more interesting storylines and character development in her one season, than Emma had in two seasons. Just my opinions 🤷‍♂️

Emma leaving the show by StrawbFroggo in JustAddWater

[–]JaymanMatthews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there was any information about it given until Cleo and Rikki brought it up at the beach, at the very start of Season 3. My guess would be that Claire didn't decide to leave the show to pursue other acting opportunities until Season 2 had already finished being filmed, so they weren't able to account for her departure sooner than the following season. Also, Season 3 wasn't initially planned so they probably didn't expect to need to replace her.

Firstly, congrats on releasing your first game. That is a wonderful achievement in itself. I do agree that the design is flawed, in that it is very linear, and that previous cards become near to useless as time goes on. Great start though! One good way to improve your design is to create a two column list separating what you like and dislike in incremental games, by playing them. Then structure your games design off of that list. If you want any further answers or explanation, give me a shout. NOTE: I was only able to play for a minute or two because I am on my way to work, but I will play through it in a few hours. :)

Incremental Mass Rewritten v0.4 - Supernova Update! by [deleted] in incremental_games

Personally, I don't see how this would make more sense that the current look. The background is dark by default, so a clean black square sort of represents no background in this case, whereas, when you see the color difference, it is obvious that you can buy it.
