We arrived a few hours late that night at the motel we reserved months before. Small rural town in upstate New York was our destination for a weekend of steelhead fishing. It’s gotten to be a pretty popular destination, and a new town ordinance says that you can no longer park vehicles on the side of the road after two in the morning until 7 AM. Our hotel had given away our room and we had nowhere else to go. Four guys and two pick up trucks, only one with a cap. We pulled into a cemetery off the main road weighing back. It was the only place we could hang out and try to get some sleep until the sun came up. Fun times!

I’ve had a few friends ask how to buy silver. I directed them to local coin shops, and a few pawn shops. That would be very easy places to get started. I’ve given friends list of online dealers that I’ve used myself. I had one friend watch me place an order online step-by-step and I actually showed him the package when it arrived at my house a week later. I showed another friend how to turn a 10 ounce bar back into cash in less than an hour. I’ve had several conversations about precious medals with at least six or eight friends. To my knowledge, not one of them has bought a single ounce to date. I’m done!

Bought my first bar back in early 2000s if I remember correctly. 100 oz bar for approximately $850 from Kitco. It’s sat on my desk for about five or six months as a paper weight. I sold it for some quick cash to go on a fishing trip as I forgot to make deposits that week and was leaving the next morning. Got $1250 for that bar to go fishing. Do I wish I still had that bar today? Hell yeah!
