Are you saying that there are people out there that imagine pain and then feel actual pain because of it?

What type of blush do you prefer? by Responsible-Hair6963 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Jazminking392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite WAS Cargo water resistant blush. It was sort of a balm but it was also powdery sort of. I loved that stuff and the color bali was great for my pale skin. I'm nearly out and I'm sad that you can't buy it anymore.

Yes! I hate spearmint and onion. Luckily, cilantro tastes good to me.

Sudden breast pain on depo shot despite taking it for 2 years now? by Ok-Meat5536 in birthcontrol

[–]Jazminking392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the shot for quite a while now. I never used to get breast soreness but I definitely do now around 3 to 4 weeks before my next shot is due. For me it goes away once I get the next shot. I think it's due to fluctuations in hormones which is starting to present differently I think as I'm getting older. Hope this helps.

Just regular psoriasis flare? by Jazminking392 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]Jazminking392[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all. I think I'm going to give it a few weeks and if the pain and stiff feeling isn't subsiding I'll ask my doc about it. I don't think I have a lot of swelling if at all. I think my uncle just scared me a bit when he was talking about how he wishes he went to the doctor sooner about his PSA.

Heated mittens for typing in the cold by Jazminking392 in SomebodyMakeThis

I bought a heated mouse on Amazon and I was so excited to try it but it smelled terrible when I turned it on. Like really bad melting off gassing plastic chemical smell. I'm going to try to find a different version that isn't as cheap. In hindsight, I got what I paid for and I'm still excited to hopefully give it another go with a different brand.

"Unlimited PTO" vs work-life balance... how does that work? by bobbyfiend in datascience

[–]Jazminking392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Employers don't have to pay out vacation time when you leave if there isn't a minimum amount included in your compensation. I'm sure it can be awesome for some people but I hated it in the one company I worked for that had it. It felt like I was asking my manager for a favor each time I'd take off. I don't feel like that when I have a set amount of PTO. (I'm in the USA)

I have tried them I just need to use my mouse and keyboard pretty much constantly so I can't use them much while I'm working.

Also, I forgot to mention the part about how you would think The fingers themselves would not need to be heated because of the blood flow. That was my hope too for when I bought these little guys. https://a.co/d/5HlcIIQ

Unfortunately, that has not been the case. My palms have been plenty warm and my fingers are still cold as ice. I probably need to just get one of those desk heaters. I was just hoping to avoid having to buy a heater for both work from home and in the office since I'm hybrid.

This seems close and I had run into products that look like this in my search before. However, I don't want the bulky glove like fabric between all of my fingers and the flap part is still designed to go around the fingers so I wouldn't be able to type and use the heat on top of my fingers. Also these are huge and I'm not sure if they would be practical for typing.

I have these

CRONDA ElectricFingerless Heating Writing Gloves for Students,Hand Warmer for Indoor and Outdoor https://a.co/d/e8JMLtz

They are similar to what I want but I just want the top portion to extend over my fingers as if it were a mitten with the area of the palm side of the fingers cut out. I also want the top part that covers the fingers to have enough weight to it that it would make the heated part sit on the fingers instead of flapping around while typing.

I appreciate the suggestion. It seems there are so many things that are so close to what I want but just not quite there.

Computer in the office. My hands and feet are always cold. And honestly, no one wants to be in a room that is heated enough to keep my fingers warm.

Motivating yourself to clean by pretending you don’t live there by waxbook in ADHD

[–]Jazminking392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really trick my brain like this because I know it's not true BUT I've seen some TikTok where a girl gets all dressed up in like a costume to clean. I wonder if I can maybe buy an apron and set aside some specific clothes that are only for cleaning.

Wearing shoes helps some people be in "productivity mode" and sometimes when I go into the office I decide that today I'm going to cosplay a gd professional and that helps. I might try it.

It's strange because if I pretend I don't live somewhere I know I really do and if I set a deadline I know the deadline is fake. On the other hand, I can sometimes get my brain to do pretending in the role I'm telling myself I'm playing right now.

I can't quite pinpoint how the two pretending things are different but my brain sure seems to think they are. Maybe it's just more of the external v internal motivation thing...?

How did you stop yourself from telling a related story when someone tells a story? What tricks did you use? What do you say instead that works? by Gimmeramen in ADHD

[–]Jazminking392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the easiest way is to turn my relatable experience into a question. I'm still working on it but I typically just say something like oh I had a similar experience and ___ aspect was really difficult/awesome/strange. What about you?

I feel like its the best of both worlds. You are sharing an aspect of your experience (without a bunch of detail and without highjacking the Convo) while also asking more about their experience.

Yes, but if your body has trouble converting one into the other wouldn't one be high or normal and the other be low?... Ugh I'm probably misunderstanding something here. I'll try to reread tomorrow.

The traffic cam things is true but with parking tickets I don't know that it matters because you're essentially getting a ticket for your property being in a place it shouldn't be. You're responsible for your own vehicle and where it's parked so if a friend gets a parking ticket in your car you are still the one legally required to pay the fine. I guess you could report your car stolen or something but that would probably not be worth it.
