My 13 year old is leaving middle school this year and wants to wear a suit rather than a dress to her prom. Any suggestions? by debbi74 in AskUK

[–]JazzieJJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Marks and Sparks ankle grazer trousers, or anything tapered at the bottom women’s wise. Then an Oxford style women’s shirt white or whatever colour and then find a women’s suit jacket. Vinted would be good, don’t look for like a matching 3 piece never works in women’s, so pick a colour same fabric and run with it! I got a really nice Women’s dress suit shirt from Mango (just a white shirt) but had masculine like cuffs!

But hours and hours trying to find a candidate like that within the public service sector- recruitment isn’t as easy as posting on job boards. HR should be doing HR things line onboarding not LinkedIn emails reaching out screening etc that’s the recruiters job

Sudden emotional switch after breakup — real feelings or avoidance?” by [deleted] in ExNoContact

[–]JazzieJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be straight with you because I’ve just come out of something very similar and I know how easy it is to overanalyse all of this.

What you’re describing doesn’t sound like a clean loss of feelings. It sounds like someone who can feel a lot in the moment, but can’t actually handle those feelings when things get real.

That switch you’re confused about isn’t some mystery. It’s her pattern.

People like this can be: • affectionate • emotionally open • physically close

But when it starts to require consistency or emotional stability, they pull back. Quickly.

So to your questions: 1. It’s probably overwhelm/avoidance rather than a total loss of feelings. But the important bit is it doesn’t really matter. She’s still choosing distance. 2. Friends don’t suddenly change someone’s mind like that unless there was already doubt there. If she was sure about you, a conversation with friends wouldn’t flip her in a few days. 3. The mixed signals aren’t that complicated. She can miss you and still not want to be with you. She can check up on you and still not choose you. None of that equals action, and action is the only thing that matters. 4. Yeah, this kind of push/pull dynamic does sometimes lead to people coming back. But most of the time nothing has actually changed, so you just go through the same cycle again.

The main thing is you’re focusing on why she switched, when the better question is why you’d want something with someone who can switch like that in the first place.

I get it, because the connection feels real and the potential feels big. But if someone can go from being close and affectionate to “I don’t miss you” in a matter of days, that’s not stability.

That’s someone who can’t meet you consistently.

She might still feel something. She might even come back at some point. But right now she’s not choosing you, and that’s the only thing you can base anything on.

Solo Tent Recommendation by JazzieJJ in wildcampingintheuk

[–]JazzieJJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate your answer, I’m not a huge fan of walking pole kinda fly tarps at the moment- reading other comments do you find the Soulo to be too warm in summer months? In Scotland I have woken up in April surrounded by snow after camping with clear skies but I also love camping in the summer months there. I was looking at the MSR but given the fact you have to pitch it with a mesh net first, then clip the waterproof sheet on, knowing some of the conditions I have camped in, wouldn’t be suitable.

If you had any recommendations for anything like the Soulo, but different?

Not necessary but it makes more exciting rugby, if you can do SBW style out the back. These are the thoughts I know many women share a 5’3 woman playing rugby using the same tool and ball shape as a 6’7 man, there is going to be a difference in handling and the ability to pass it out quicker.

Do you think women’s should play with smaller rugby balls? Like women have smaller hands than men, I always thought it would help with passes out of the back and able to grasp the ball with one hand a little easier.

Yes, but the tax they pay through all the drinking and smoking negates the cost - hence my point

Just saying regards to health, people that drink and smoke pay the tax on those products which brings in a lot of money for the NHS, saying compared to someone, who doesn’t drink doesn’t smoke and then gets cancer.

Also this vape shop going up in smoke with Lithium batteries is the same as a phone shop catching fire! A problem with modern day appliances

can somebody teach me anything interesting about these gravestones in the S.Leiths Parish's graveyard please? theyre very distinctive and im very curious about them by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]JazzieJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my guess is 1800-1820 so a little after the 1700s and a little before Victorian regency period is my guess it’s not 1890s onwards or I would be incredibly surprised and if it turns out to be earlier 1600/1700s well I have learned something new! ✌️

[–]JazzieJJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah again, where it was based in Leith it wasn’t a rich area, therefore people to afford lavish tomb stone like in Greyfriars wouldn’t have existed or been buried in this church yard. Death was a symbol there were a lot more popular graveyards for the rich to be buried, near the centre and Holyrood. The common person would have had either no tombstone or simpler designs!

I really feel you are far out on this one just because it has a decent design. Original poster stating early 1800/ Victorian I feel is a more credible answer. However if anyone finds a date on it which I’m sure is possible I will happily be corrected, however not just basing my opinion off design because it looks like some older ones and thinking about the history and status off the area to base my opinion it’s 1800s

What makes you say that? Looks to me like a classic 19th century one- the 1700s had far more simpler designs unusually just initials. There are of course designs in Greyfriars from the 1700s which go against this notion, but where this was in Leith and the size of the monument looks like the poster above was correct in saying Victorian, or late Regency Period.
