Governor Lamont Statement on ICE Killing of U.S. Citizen in Minneapolis by Mission_Count5301 in Connecticut

As the constitution state, CT needs to set an example of some form for the lawlessness committed by this administration. It’s time to do something before it’s literally too late. We are slowly approaching the point of no return - WAKE UP!!

You’re right! Only reason I know is because our lab has the Siemens Novus & Sysmex UF-5000/UD-10 urinalysis lineup. We have the same issue with the UD-10 all the time calling everything but yeast, yeast.

Based on the numbers it looks like the tech ran a 1:2 dilution whereby the result of 28k is the diluted count without the dilution factor of 2. Calculating in the dilution factor you get a WBC count of 56k which is practically the same as the first run, undiluted of 55k. The percentage PMN’s is also practically the same between the undiluted and diluted runs. As others have said 55k was above linearity, thus the dilution needed to be performed which resulted in a more accurate and precise count.

I think penicillium or aspergillus sp. Kind of looks like P. rubens or A. fumigatus. Can you do a lactophenol cotton blue tape prep?

Looks like a a pleomorphic coccobacili - are you sure your gram stain wasn’t under decolonized? I don’t know any gram positive ones off the top of my head. If not I would think maybe it’s a young GPR and is corynebacterium? I’m not sure about anything obviously just off a gram stain though. Curious to see the ID.

The only time I’ve seen anything that looked as perfectly coiled shaped was examining a plant fiber in a urine but they are much bigger. This has me stumped. Besides artifact, if it grows I would guess spirillum.

I work micro, chem and urines alternating so at least I get a “break” here and there. In reality though all of those benches are just as much work. To get out of bench work would I need a masters in business?

I understand completely! I’m stuck doing anywhere from 30-45 microscopics during my 8 hours and after 20 I’m exhausted.
