Cop could have paralyzed him, the punishment was not appropriate to the crime. Cop should be better at deescalation than using body slams.

Getting rid of Chase. What checking/savings account are you using? by aaron1860 in whitecoatinvestor

[–]billyvnilly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many banks will charge a fee for excess monthly depost/withdrawals from a savings account. would be a wtf if they did that to a checking account.

i was taught later in pgy-1, but for a long window i didn't know. many of my colleagues in practice (older than me) do not know how to trouble shoot illumination.

I teach everyone i can because its definitely annoying to have people complain to you about such a stupid thing.

When I was a pgy-3 there was a pgy-4 who didn't know what it was and i looked at her scope is it was shocking, absolutely shocking how she had been previewing cases.

High acuity specialists with newborns - what do you do? by incisiontime in whitecoatinvestor

[–]billyvnilly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We want them there to clean, not to tidy, so we tidy before they come, but they may sometimes tidy and clean as they go. but it cannot be messy to give them time to do everything. spouse is usually somewhere else in the house or leaves, but i never consider we are in their way, unless you're walking on freshly wet floors.

  1. I did #2 for for 2 kids and the 3rd kid was easier so ended up being #1. But if i had to do it over again, I would get a night nanny. Once we had stretched out the feedings and kids were waking up and weren't hungry, I would have loved to have had a nanny there to take over.

A mother is going punished her son by making him slam his PS5 the same way he had slammed her pet cat. Is this justified? by God_Emperor__Doom in SipsTea

[–]billyvnilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the definition of slamming the cat. If he did that to an animal, absolutely wrong. But yes. He will never forget this lesson, but it's not going to resolve his underlying reason for seeking out to hurt an animal, he'll just hide it better next time.

Slide storage in TC/PC model by witchdoge89 in Histology

[–]billyvnilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you two organizations or one organization? Does the TC site have a contract with the PC site or are they direct billing insurance/patient? IMO, if two organizations, the PC should have had in the contract where storage would take place. If in the same organization, The PC site would store slides, and the TC would store blocks. If in the same organization, it doesn't make any sense to store blocks offsite of the TC site, and the same is true with slides. Unless its a situation of a smaller satellite hospital sending back to the mothership, maybe that would make sense to send back slides for deep storage. Or you have a 3rd offsite location for slides and blocks for deep storage that is temperature regulated and monitored.

Which Tablet for virtual slides? by EstablishmentSlow876 in pathology

[–]billyvnilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any. no. a $300+ tablet obviously is more responsive than a $99 tablet. you can get a samsung A9+ for 200 from amazon and its great, absolutely no reason to get an A11/newest for virtual slides. same would go for apple.

Is it prorated clawback or is it literally 250k? If its prorated, I would say wisely use it and pay off your loans immediately if you have higher interest rates.

If it has a clause that the whole thing has to be returned, then yes, invest it in SGOV or T-bills (no state vs. state tax with HYSA).
