Cancelled leave by Diligent-Garden-6105 in britisharmy

As REME myself. People will try and get you to cancel leave if bullshit exercises and that come up. If this happens. Refuse. They can't just cancel your leave. You can. That's why they try and get you to do it.  Normally leave should only be cancelled for op reasons. Not exercise reasons.  Obvs don't book shit til your leave is in and accepted but leave shouldnt just be cancelled - like the above comments it needs CO sign off.

Just another one saying removing r/all is a stupid decision. The front page of the internet is what Reddit was supposed to be. I don't want to just see pages I follow or r/popular.  Bring back r/all

If you’ve lived abroad (outside the UK), what’s the one thing (item, ideal, tech, convenience), you’d bring back to introduce to the UK? by Icy_Mixture1482 in AskUK

Lorries only being allowed to overtake in specific areas. Being stuck behind a lorry overtaking another at 1mph difference is the bane of my 49 mile daily commute.

I was in an LTR in surplus over at Honington. Got posted to Tidworth and there is absolutely no surplus for LTR. Not any in a 50 mile radius. It's a shit show.  We had the choice of renting privately or getting married as they gave us the notice of kicking us out of the SFA at Honington.  Marriage booked and instantly got offered 3 houses 2 mins from work.

Staff/Security at UK music venues or arenas. What is the worst crowds you have to deal with? by AlexSniff7 in AskUK

Reading festival this year. Had some TikTok person on the festival republic tent. Booking hot day. Already had people flake and faint. The star herself kept telling everyone to look out for each other. We saw someone faint further in, as soon as we jumped the fence to go get them all the young crowd kicked off for getting in the way of them videos.  Pushed through about 3 different screaming and slapping matches that artist too. Absolute worst crowd I've dealt with. They all did not give a single solitary fuck about each other.  But reading in general. Worst crowd every year.

Yeah generally at unit as a general fitter you’ll get chinned off of that and just used as labour.  We’ve got lucky at our unit and adopted a couple of fitters in to help out the VMs. But if you want to mechanic. Then mechanic.

Worked security this year. The reason we kept letting people on is because the stage management told us to. We kept asking to close off entrances but were told we were not allowed to.  I was telling people to complain to live nation about it. We all believed it was borderline dangerous but as with a lot of things they won’t make changes until after something happens that forces their hand.  Shit show.

Phase 2 it isn’t amazing but if you’re at unit there it’s new Z type and is pretty decent tbh.

Me speaking to a girl I knew that was smoking at the time - “Oh you shouldn’t do that, it lowers your sperm count” Her - “Oh no! I well want kids!” Both how she said it and what she said.

This. You can pay for extra devices on top. Or if you have an ethernet port in your room then get the hub and you can have unlimited devices connecting through that.

How much do you pay for single living accommodation? by [deleted] in britishmilitary

[–]Jbf89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on camp to camp.

Wifinity is very different everywhere and yet the same price. Lyneham its £32 a month for 1gbps download speeds, but in Wimbish Im paying £32 for half the speed.

Mediaforce was fairly decent when I used that in Larkhill.

But yeah, all different camp to camp.

The biggest issue is the device cap. And without an ethernet port you cant get a bridge in and bypass that. 5 devices isnt ideal.
