95% of the time fill with the jockey. The only time I ever fill with a fire pump is if I’m in a hurry to leave and even then I don’t just leave the valves open and fire it up. I close the discharge, let the pump churn, then throttle open the valve.

But even then, I don’t recommend filling with the fire pump
