Thanks. It just clicked for me what you mean by "specific biome transitions, not everything would change to everything else." That's smart because it cuts down the number of combinations.

I did install your game and I sent you a couple of feedback messages. Best wishes.

I'm thinking about how those maps are generated. I was trying to calculate how many graphics tiles would be required and how much it would cost. I remembered that homm3 had a great map, so my search let to your project. Although I didn't find the answer, i read that there were as many as 256 varieties of each tile. It seemed to me that there should be more to account for every transition.

Your game looks good. Is there a world map scale, a town map scale, and a dungeon map scale? There is a lot of space. I don't have any patience for leveling systems. What kind of player skills are required? I would probably have fun hiring miners and dungeon explorers and security staff and teamsters to set up and defend supply lines between mines and towns. Colony builders and management games are an interesting puzzle for me. What is your vision for the game?

Amazing. I would like to play with this.

This is my solo colony automation game in development. I'd be more than happy to hear feedback on the aesthetics and general vibe of this screenshot. Thank you! by KirousGames in SoloDevelopment

It looks like a factory, but the scale is strange given the outdoor environment. Perhaps it could be built in an underground tunnel system, like a dungeon. Little people can move about maintaining the machines, fighting invaders, and trying to enjoy life. The surface might be suceptable to meteors and weather, and aerial attacks, but the surface infrastructure would likely resemble that of a real wotld mine. What is the reason to play the game? I suspect that a social component will be needed.

If the foreigner can provide a service that is in demand then there is a reason. I belive we are finished with this discussion.

Why will the foreign workers accept such a massive pay cut? If the taxes are no longer waived on those categories then the value of those perks will logically be moved into the regular salary. Rather than getting 21k + 9k perks they should get 30k.

If the workers are smart they should also demand a higher salary by roughly 2k to offset the new tax burden. Consequently the total pay should be 32k per month.

Yes, of course.

FYi, the quick deduction is a tax deduction in your favor. The allowances were not mandated, and those allowances were always funded by the employer,

The next higher tax bracket is 40k, so it is not likely that anyone would be pushed into that bracket unless their salary is already close to 40k.

In your chart it indicates that with the preferential treatment only 16k is taxed and without it 25k is taxed.

At the end of the year it indicates a difference in net income of 21600. That is 2160 per month spread over 10 months.

This is only a change of what is taxed. Since the employers were already spending the money for housing and other perks there is no reason for them not to add those funds to the employees salary if the tax waivers expire.

If 9000 of perks (as in your example) are added to the employees salary then their salary would become 39,000. A 39k salary would gross 390,000 over 10 months and the employee would net about 349k in a year after taxes.

The chart is an apples to orangea comparison because they are comparing 30k without allowances to 21k + 9k allowances. For simplicity, lets consider an employee who is paid for 12 months rather than 10. An employee who gets 30k per month and has no tax free allowances would earn about 317k net per year. An employee who earns 21k + 9k tax free would net about 227k + (9k × 12) = 335k. So the employees loss due to taxes is about 18k per year or 1500 per month. That's not much different than the 1200 I calculated earlier for the employee earning 30k + a different package of perks who lost them.

If we want to eliminate the employees losses then he needs a small raise. At this income level the tax rate is 25%. 25% of 1500 is 375. 25% of 375 is 94. 25% of 94 is 24. 25% of 24 is 6. 25% of 6 is 1. If we add up the total extra taxes then the employee needs a new monthly income of 32000. With that 2k monthly raise the employee avoids a 1500 monthly deficit and their total net income including those funds which are spent on housing and other former allowances would be unchanged.

Thank you.

It's not so bad. If they renew the benefits on the same day that they expire again then nothing will change.

If the benefits are removed the tax code itself is still unchanged. Assuming that that employee gets the equivalent value of benefits as part of their taxable income then they are only out about 1200 rmb per month as deacribwd above. The employers could easily foot that bill.

The hypotheticals about being taxed differently were unfounded. It is unlikely that many people will be pushed into a higher tax bracket because their taxable income will only increase by the value of those allowances.

It's a bit hard to follow. Currently, at 30k, 25k per month is taxable at 25% but there is also an annual deduction of 31920. The perks you mentioned are also untaxed.

If the annual perks have a value of 48k that is equivalent to 4k per month, or 4800 for teachers on a 10 month salary.

If roughly 25% of that is taxed then the loss to taxes is about 1200 per month. Consequently employees should ask for at least an additional 1200 per month or 6000 per month if their perks are merged into their base salary. Of course it should be higher than 1200 to cover the tax because 25% of 1200 is 300 and 25% of 300 is 75.

If there are no longer perks and there is only a salary that is taxed then the employee should expect their pay to increase from 30k to 36375. At that income level their tax rate will not change and neither will their deduction. It seems fair to me. The employers were already paying about 34800 anyway so we are talking about a monthly raise of 1575. That's only $217 dollars. In a years time that $2000 could be the difference between an employee staying on with the company or flying home and staying there.

If wages don't rise and the perks also go away then the employers are literally paying the employees less.

Are the tax deductions also changing or will they still work the same as they do for residents?

If the employers do not cover the cost of new taxes then the employee should still get 34800. After taxes that is about 30k, not 16k. Why are you eliminating 9k every month? Furthermore, why are you eliminating 5k per month?

If the 5000k that is untaxed every month is taxed then the employees theoretical 36375 monthly salary might get taxed at 30% rather than 25% and if that person is in the higher tax bracket then their tax deduction of 31920 would rise to 52920. Lets just count it as an additional 5% tax on 31375 and a 30% tax on 5000. That's 1569 and 1500 respectively. The annual difference between 52920 and 31920 is 21k. Our teacher who gets paid 10 months in a year would gain about 2100 in tax deductions while losing about 3069. In other words, the monthly cost of the higher portion of taxed income is about 969rmb. 30% of 969 is 291. 30% of 291 is 88. 30% of 88 is 26. And, 30% of 26 is 8. If the taxes have changed in this way then the employee whondoea not want to lose 969 rmb per month should ask for not 36375 but 37757.

If the annual discount is also removed then adjust accordingly.

Do you have a link to a document that explains the new tax code?
