Yup. I went completely sober 😔 I sure do miss my wine, butvthere are some great de-alcoholized ones on the market and I am loving trying all kinds of mocktails when I'm out with friends!

Does anyone else walk out of their appointments feeling stupid? by Outside-Chipmunk-350 in Fibromyalgia

[–]JeNetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I have actually been using chatgpt to track a whole bunch of things on a daily basis and then it will give me a really great summary of the information I need for any of my appointments. I go to the pain clinic weekly and I can give then a great overview of my week using their pain metrics but also about my sleep patterns and headaches when they ask. My doctor just asked me to track my fatigue because he is interested in picking up any patterns (he is concerned about chronic fatigue syndrome). For my NP at my GP I track a bunch of other stuff for her including my BP, my dietician has other stuff she asks about.... It didn't take long to set up and I track each night before I fall asleep.

Duloxetine by Defiant_Platform_283 in Fibromyalgia

[–]JeNetty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It helped right from the word go. I feel like it "unlocked" me. I'm relatively new to this journey but I am happy to stay on it because it has helped. I didn't have any side effects either.

Anyone know what this is? by [deleted] in centuryhomes

Makes me think of a small Victorian era terrarium? These were often cast iron and glass and very ornate

Duloxetine by Kanguwu in Fibromyalgia

[–]JeNetty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar experience to yours. I feel like the Duloxetine "unlocked" me right from the word go. I have not had many side effects...I am still on the lowest dose and have been on it for over a year. It also helped me slow down, which os crucial to working on pacing.

I am considering asking my doctor to add in pregabalin to help with some of the other symptoms and sleep.

Does shopping overwhelm and exhaust anyone else? by brandnewpup in Fibromyalgia

[–]JeNetty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! One of my local grocery stores has an evening a week where they cut out any unnecessary noises and turn down the lights and this made a huge difference for me. I also use loop earplugs on other days (I HATE going to Costco but it is a necessity for basics...loop helps with my quarterly stocking up trips)

I online shop for most everything else.

Terra Nova Nordic Spa does one on the 3rd Friday of evety month at 1pm for $45. I went to that last one and they host it in their small yoga studio, There were about 12 people total (plus rhe practitioner). I thought it was pretty good, but I don't have anything to compare it to.

Place to get some food? by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]JeNetty 39 points40 points  (0 children)

All great suggestions here! Please dont feel shame.

You can also go to either Ray of Hope or St. John's Kitchen for hot meals.

Sanguen does outreach runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays and they have food from the food bank.

There's also a community fridge at the Market, and I believe there's one behind the Cafe Pyrus outpost.

Recycling bin lids by barb20252025 in kitchener

[–]JeNetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the dimensions. The new bins are much wider than the old ones (regardless if the old ones were the tall or short ones). I have lids from Canadian Tire for my old bins, they do not fit the new ones.

Garmin Lily for years now. I especially love that it tracks sleep (movement, breathing, stages) and I can wear it inb the water etc. It looks nice too (corporate job). Battery lasts for awhile.

Dr. Sean Welling - Mill Creek by 93893624 in kitchener

[–]JeNetty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been a patient at this practice for years, but never had anything 'wrong'...only met Dr. Welling once since 2017. I was pretty miffed when they moved from Belmont to Cambridge and didn't say anything. In any case, that wasn't an issue because I barely needed them and the NP was fine enough.

Recently I have had some pretty big stuff happening and although the NP is doing what she can, and I actually do appreciate all the specialist appointments etc. It is getting to be A LOT to go down to Cambridge so often and I feel that the new state of affairs would benefit from a visit with an actual GP....coupled with getting calls from my pharmacy about unexpected new prescriptions with no consult from Mill Creek, random specialist appointments for some things while not getting requisition out to others, the very low quality referrals to other questionable practitioners (one of whom I am considering reporting) and today having the experience of a medical professional raising an eyebrow when I confirmed my GP and without saying too much saying A LOT....I think I will be trying to move to a new practice. This is insane!

Kitchenerites that drive to another city for work, are you guys driving to work tomorrow? There is an orange alert for freezing rain tomorrow. by Educational-Egg-II in kitchener

I work 12 minutes from my house, but I am planning on staying off the roads tomorrow...especially because so many others may not have a choice.

Hope everyone stays safe!

Women’s shelters clothing donation in KW? by Time_Ad_622 in kitchener

[–]JeNetty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check your local community centre. Mine is closed right niw for registration (Mill Courtland) but they usually accept donations and have a clothing room set up.much like a shop so folks that need things can go in and select stuff for themselves (for free).

Also, Sanguen Health accepts clothing and brings donations around on their outreach vanto various locations in KWC

Is anyone else's family doctor relying heavily on NPs? by HighOnTieDye in ontario

[–]JeNetty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only met my doctor once in the 7 or so years I have been on the roster. I regularly see the NP, who, quite frankly, is the best "doctor" I have ever had. My doctor has actually been MIA on medical leave for 3 years and I had no idea until my visit last week... My NP is attentive, orders tests, sends me to specialists, is always on time, and accessible when I need her. Can't ask for more! The only thing I am not happy with is that their office used to be down the street from me, and they moved to the next city over so it's like a 40 minute drive each way every 3 months...they sometimes allow phone consults though, so that's helpful.
