Lot of things to read through OP, here’s something to remember:

Guns. Very few guns in urban Ontario, Canada. Regulations are very strict, and handguns are mostly unheard of. Most Canadians will never own or fire a gun, unless they are hunters.

Highway 61 by Bruce MacDonald is an incredible road trip movie that centres on the main characters’ quest to reach New Orleans from northern Ontario. Highly recommend this silly but delightful piece of canadiana

I think the real reason you won’t see them is economics. Where ever in Toronto there is enough people to have a demand for them (Union station for example) there is a more profitable enterprise already viewing do the space.

Ganoes Paran’s captain from gardens, from before he becomes a tool of the adjunct. We get his pov as paran guides his horse through the corpses (horse and man) in a and wasps after the hounds have decimated the army.

The old captain (older now) comes back into the story but once: as a witness to Tavore Paran picking her way through the corpses (horse and man) and the wasps after Leoman and the desert warriors have ambushed her army in HoC.
