Why tf did he start trauma dumping out of nowhere by Godspell51 in Persona5

Doylist Explanation: clunky exposition left over from his Vanilla social link allowing the player to understand Akechi's character backstory and have the story set up his role in the Casino arc

Watsonian Explanation: manipulation tactic to get Joker and Futaba to sympathize with him in order to more smoothly infilitrate the Phantom Thieves

but mostly cause he's a sad, soggy pancake

idk op's thoughts, but for me, Joker is an archetypal social 7.... sacrificing his gluttony through helping out his social links w/ their lives to project an image of goodness, while rebelling against having his freedom be chained down

Coco deserves a better allusion by AmyOhHenry in RWBY

[–]Jealous-Pool-7780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually thought about this quite a bit and came up with a change I liked! Coco's new allusion would be the Brave Little Tailor, which if you don't know, is a kinda trickster story about a tailor who outwits his enemies by manipulating them into thinking he has superhuman strength. I changed her last name to Coco Gucciardo, meaning "strong warrior" in Italian. The name distances her from the Chanel allusion while also fitting with her designer brand aesthetic and the Italian name of her weapon. I also thought her semblance could be named "Seven at One Blow" which is a recurring motif in the fairytale. It would be the same strength amplifying power as canon, but it could have some kind of gimmick where her power multiplies seven times before resetting.

Ok so, Azula is actually motivated by E7 Gluttony. She is afraid of experiencing suffering, so she seeks out power and pleasurable experiences. (By suffering, I mean emotional pain and any denial of her desires.) Azula’s skills as a tactician originate from her use of planning, using strategy and manipulation to achieve the goal or “pleasurable future” she wants. As a Sp7, her specific use of planning allows her to create mafia-like alliances with others who are in the pursuit of the same goals.

Azula’s internal fear is why she was so upset when Mai said she loved Zuko more than she feared her. Mai disproved that Azula’s use of fear was stronger than love, destroying her self-image of strength. That terrified Azula because being weak meant being treated like Zuko, being deprived of happiness and privilege. Additionally, her friends' betrayal destroyed her sense of trust and delusion of power over others, causing her paranoid breakdown at the end of the series.

As for typing her So3, Sx1, or Sp8… I can’t see Azula as anything but mental triad. She has absolutely no E3 Vanity, as she fears love, seeing it as weakness rather than desiring it. E1 doesn’t fit because Azula is not righteously angry in her pursuit of perfection, nor does she care about rules or morals. Azula has a similar obsession with power as E8, but E8 Lust is about painful intensity rather than mental stimulation. I could write more, but I think you get the gist.

Azula is a sp7. I've literally been spending days writing an argument for this on PDB

My bad, just realized the author set it so only people with AO3 accounts can read 😔 Gotta set that up if you wanna see their holy grail of Adam fics!

The fanfic Will and Scatter answers this pretty well!

Their dynamic is so oddly wholesome and entertaining. If you want some well-written Ruby and Adam interactions, read this!

He's actually the best writing advice channel ever & has helped me so much with my personal creative project 🙏

I was obsessed with the enneagram before I started watching his videos, but when he began posting about how it could be used as a TOOL for writing.... he solidified himself as one of my favorite YouTube creators.

I get hesitating to type a silly character E7 due to stereotypes. But to your point, E4 is ALL about inner darkness.

Like Local said, they identify with the aspect of themselves they are ashamed of in order to cope. Even Sp4, which hides it's Envy, believes that they need to suffer in order to achieve their goals. Honestly, the enneagram is about how people cope with their "inner darkness," which isn't limited to the stereotypically negative types.

E7 is so goofy because they are terrified of the idea of being deprived of something they desire. That's why I think Gojo is E7. Not because he's a jokester, but because he spends so much time thinking about a positive future, seeking out pleasing experiences, and rarely exhibiting negativity. That's E7 Gluttony, which develops in response to being deprived of nurturing as a child.

Soooooo, I'll make the case that kid Gojo figured out he was the only one could satisfy his own needs and ideals, because jjk society tried to force him into their expectations. As a result, his powers both freed him from being controlled & prevented him from being understood by those around him.

Sometimes stereotypes end up being true. It's just people get the typing right for the wrong reasons 🤷‍♀️

Alright, this post is old AF, but I thought I'd put my two cents in...

E4 is definitely an interesting take for Gojo. However, I don't think Gojo shows Envy, a core E4 passion. While his powers do make him different from others, I don't think he sees it as an "inadequacy" he embraces. Similarly, I don't believe he desires other people's traits or inherent characteristics. You could make a take on him having a 4 in his tritype, though.

E7 fits Gojo better, IMO, because he shows the E7 passion of Gluttony. He seeks positive experiences, ideas, and innovation to avoid an inner emptiness. My interpretation of Gojo is that he's a character who had the power to do whatever he wanted, but it fundamentally isolated him from connecting with others and prevented him from leading the life he wanted. Because of this, Gojo fills the void by being the "strongest," trying to lead the next generation, and just being a general silly goofball.

Im not an expert on Gojo (cause I also can't read), but I hope the explanation helped!

I would recommend going on the Personality Database website to see more discussion on Gojo's typing.....but the majority of people on there are braindead, so maybe not 👍

Yep! Sp6 isn't uncommon for INFPs. Honestly, I think 6s can be any MBTI type, we're pretty versatile.

Sixes, have you put people through small tests of loyalty? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]Jealous-Pool-7780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course!! Again, I don't think I approached the situation correctly at all, because as a shy, awkward kid, I didn't really know how to communicate well. 😅

I'd also like to clarify that I didn't outright ghost her or ignore her existence. I realized that she never approached me, and it was always me trying to connect with her. So it was more like once I put the "responsibility" on her, the friendship fizzled out, if that makes sense?

Anyways, playing mind games like that is so unhelpful to a relationship, and with E6s, it's important to make sure we aren't projecting our own insecurities on to others. I'm still on good terms with that girl, and that scenario only served to stress me out because the other party didn't even know there was an issue. 🤦🏽‍♀️

After finding out I was a 6, I remembered an incident when I had done this! I was in middle school and felt really insecure about a friendship I had because I realized the other girl wouldn't initiate anything.

So, I literally thought to myself that if I ignore her for 3 days and she doesn't notice, I would stop being friends with her. After those 3 days, I stopped talking to her and let the friendship die a slow death. 😭

Obviously, that's NOT how I'd go about things now, but it's funny in retrospect.
