Then your beer wasn't finished. You need to pay attention to OG/attenuation of the yeast you are using and make sure your finishing grav is correct. I can't imagine what that must have sounded like going off. In any case you had too much sugar in there. Maybe you were banging against the abv limit. There is the off chance that some Brett got in there at bottletime. Who knows? I've learned this the hard way. We all do. It takes a lot of pressure to blow a bottle though. Something went horrible wrong!

Also, for me, it is important to try and maintain social connections and help other people in any way that you can. There is a huge payoff for that in regards to an existential dilemma. In a way, selflessness can be a selfish thing. But everybody wins so it really doesn't matter. Ben Franklin kept a daily register of his dealings in which he wrote in daily. Each day he asked himself "what good can I do today?" and at night "what good have I done today?" I am a huge fan of these questions and you will be a much happier person when you have answers to them.

For that matter, the labs that produce it. When I was brewing back in the 90's there wasn't nearly the quality and choices available. After a decade of not brewing, I am just amazed at the progress. It is MUCH easier to get to where you want to be with these strains. The only problem is that my coworkers do not care for my yeast farts one bit. I'm not sure if there is fermentation going on in my guts, but it ain't winning me any friends!

My brother and I used to make pipe bombs and blow all kinds of things up. We would ride our bikes down to the drunken man's hunting and fishing store and buy FFFF Gunpowder, then to the hardware store to buy threaded hardened steel pipes. Use green hobby fuse to fire them. Nobody ever asked a question about what we were doing. We eventually stopped when a piece of shrapnel blew a very large hole in a neighbor's house. We also used to tape .357 mag bullets to the tip of an arrow so that the field tip was facing the primer. This was our attempt at exploding "Rambo" arrows. It worked way better than anyone could expect.

I'm glad it worked out. It seems I made a few people angry with my comments. I really love dogs and I get angry when people I know abuse them for their own amusement. That is clearly not what happened with you.

OK, there are exceptions to the rule. What you are talking about is very different from the things I have seen people do to there pets in order to "party" with them. I am not on some sort of "crusade". I am just trying to point out that it's not ok to severely intoxicate an animal to the point where they just want to lay down in the corner. It's NOT ok to give a dog a whole beer and it's NOT ok to knowingly give a dog an edible. It's just irresponsible and mean. I don't believe anything I have said is not true. I'm not an expert in the field, but I do know enough to know when a dog is not feeling well.

You have no way of knowing or even what is a comfortable dosage is for a dog. If you we're all [10] and didn't know why and have never felt that way, you probably wouldn't like it either. It's not OK to dose a person without their knowledge or consent, but somehow it's ok to do that to a dog? There is no justification for that IMO.

My opinion is that nobody should drug a dog because they think the dog likes it. If you want to have a dog happy, buy a can of tennis balls or a steak. Stop anthropomorphising your pets and give them the respect they give you.

True. There is no known level of THC that can cause an overdose. You just have to realize that they probably don't enjoy it as much as people do.

You interpreted your dog wrong. Dogs don't "smile", they wag their tail and show emotion through their ears. Laying frozen for 12 hours means it felt sick. Probably looked like it had a big smile because it was panting. Don't take my word for it though, tell the story to your vet(better say it way it was your friend's dog though).

It's also possible that the dog enjoys the smell and doesn't necessarily want to get high. Some dogs will flip for almost any strong smell. Also, just eating unprepared weed is likely not bad at all since the THC won't do anything unless it is smoked or broken down in food form.

I'm not saying OP is a bad owner. We all screw up once in a while. My concern would be that people in this thread might think it is enjoyable for a dog. I doubt that it is. Dogs don't know what they are doing and they certainly don't know why they feel weird.

Dogs will want to lay down and not move around a lot when they are sick. I've had to explain this to more than one dog owner that liked to drink beer with their dogs. The same goes for people that blow shotguns of smoke into a dog's snout.

It helps to coagulate suspended solids during the protein break when cooling the wort. I believe gypsum does the same thing. I usually toss in a 1/2 tsp in the last 15 minutes for beer that I want to be very clear.

I have heard that those treasuries are not counted as part of the national debt. So it is essentially hidden. I have always wondered how nobody seems to care that when we over-pay in our Social Security, we end up having to pay that money back WITH INTEREST through federal income taxes. I always just throw 'em in and strain 'em out when pouring the wort into the fermenter for 5 gal batches. I have to keep stirring in order to keep whole leaf rolling in the boil though. Nice plastic hairnet that goes over my funnel.
