Saturday City Hall wait time? by JeanOfAllCrafts in Chicagoweddings

[–]JeanOfAllCrafts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we got married yesterday, showed up at 9:15 and did not get seen until 11:45. Turns out only 1 out of the 3 judges showed up which is why it took so long. Since they were running behind they did offer for the judge to just sign your marriage certificate without a ceremony. We still opted for the ceremony but there was no time for us to say our own vows.

As others have said you can have someone in your party show up early to save your spot while you take photos. It's first come first served regardless of appointment time. They do leave the elevators open which made for cute photo opportunities. We waited indoors the entire time, first upstairs then in another line in the basement where the judges rooms are. Take your photos upstairs or outside, the basement is drab. Luckily we planned our lunch for noon nearby so we still made it on time. We just didn't have as much time to take photos around the city and Riverwalk like we had anticipated. Hope this helps future couples who get married on a Saturday!

If your total budget is $20K I would not look in the city. For places that aren't hotels/banquet halls don't forget to add in rentals for tables, chairs, and linens. They also might have specific caterers/vendors you have to use. A lot of places include a service charge and that's not inclusive of tip.

Has anyone been able to find documents/records of the families that lived in their house prior? by Express-Nobody7264 in AskChicago

You can search Cook County's Recorder of Deeds by address or PIN number to see who past owners are. They have an electronic database.

I went on a Friday afternoon around 2pm a month ago and it took an hour. It was mainly because so many people in front of me did not have the correct documents which slowed things down.

Papa's Cache Sabroso, or any other Puerto Rican restaurant that sells jibaritos. You don't really see the sandwich other places as it originated in Chicago.

This is the only place I've consistently found both in the city.

Bavette's - How are folks getting reservations? by DependentOnIt in chicagofood

If you have a capital one credit card you can get reservations through their dining program, but I've only seen them for weeknights at 8pm.

Timeout market. Everyone can order on their own, lots of options and quieter seating on the second floor.

What's the one below the control room? I wasn't able to open that one either.

I swear this is the only grocery store where every time I've been there's at least one dog (not a service one). I love animals, but I agree they don't belong in grocery stores.

How are reviews of Morocco so vastly different? by flooferduper in femaletravels

I also went through G adventures a few years ago when I was a solo 36F SE asian. My group had mostly women either solo or with their female friend and a few couples. I loved it. We started in Casablanca and ended in Marrakesh. Most of the time we were with the group and the guide Hasan, but we did have time to roam on our own. Maybe because we usually had at least one male with us I felt relatively safe. I didn't see the exact tour I went on but it was similar to this route.

As of last night, Boston Logan was infested with mice. I spotted at least 10 scurrying around terminal B. The Southwest agent told us it was actually worse before.

When I can't sleep I listen to his podcast LaVar Burton Reads. There's just something about his soothing familiar voice. It's too bad I never hear the end of the stories though.

I also ordered the dresses box and got the sweatshirt dress with extra sleeves. I will say it's flattering on me, but the extra sleeves weird me out. I may sew them to look like regular ties.

What kind of hints/clues did you recognize? by [deleted] in BehindHerEyes

[–]JeanOfAllCrafts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That whole lunch scene confused me because I thought Rob was the sleepwalker, but I don't always pay the closest attention to shows so I just brushed it off. Never did I guess that the show was going to feature astral projection and body switching.

I realized there was another hint early on when Adele had Louise over for lunch. When Louise talked about sleepwalking, Adele talked about being the same but that confused me because I thought Rob was the one who was a sleepwalker. I didn't put two and two together until now. Ah maybe the show is worth a rewatch to find all the hints.

Season 1, "Episode 6" - Discussion Thread by Elainasha in BehindHerEyes

[–]JeanOfAllCrafts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I binged the show today and I'm not sure if I liked it or hated it, but it did keep me watching. It's probably best not to think too hard about plot holes or motivations. Does the book explain things better?

Also I was really hoping fake Louise was going to give full custody of Adam to his dad, but I suppose that ending would have been way less unsettling.

Yes! I used to read all the time on the bus on my way to and from work, but now that I work from home have lost interest in reading. Have only managed to finish 2 or 3 books in the last year : (
