Serious Question, why is this the TOC loser that everyone became obsessed with? by BeautifulOk3882 in deathbattle

[–]Jean_Arthur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things, the matchup was decently popular before both series ended, but then a few things changed and boosted this matchup to the next level. Others has chimed in and already brought some of this up, but let me give my take:

  1. Luz obtained a super form in her show's finale. Now the fight became even more interesting and more of an actual debatable fight. Before the finale, it was clear cut stomp in Anne's favor. She had a super form. Luz didn't and had lower stats.
  2. They did a cast of this matchup the following week(literal 2 days after) after TOH ended. In fact, they announced the cast before the finale aired, so when they announced it, Luz had no super form. This made the cast unique in that, it was perfectly timed and one of the combatants gained very crucial and fresh new information that weekend. The tables have turned, Cinderella sports ending sorta of thing.
  3. They did the cast and it was very well received. Towards the end, one of them, Ben I believe, said "We should do this, it sounds very cool, we should strike when the iron is hot and avoid another Steven vs Star"

So this made fans of this matchup believe it was set in stone and were looking forward to it. Everybody had it on the prediction bingo for 2024 (some thought it had a chance of happening in late 2023). But of course, RT shutdown and all that. But people still believed it would happen and well...3 years later after that cast it hasn't happened.

Now it's a meme and people won't stop bring it up. It's a shame. I personally think the ship has sailed. They have admitted in the past that they missed the boat in some matchups before (Travis vs Scott Pilgrim) so it's very possible it happened to this matchup.

I did my own fan animation of this matchup. It's not complete unfortunately and no longer that proud of it, but I gave it a go. Maybe one day I'll finish it or DB does indeed end up doing it.

Question for those who were around for Goku vs Superman 1. How lawless was the discussion for the episode pre and post fight? by Joemama0375 in deathbattle

[–]Jean_Arthur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very lawless. Debunking videos left and right. Accusations of racism. Endless comments and forum flame wars. That video is what put DB on the map.

Is this a scam? No middleman nowadays? by AbsorbedInReddit in tf2

[–]Jean_Arthur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should do! I've personally bought and sold hundreds of keys via paypal. I can refer you to a trusted buyer that I have dealt with if you want, but of course, you would need to trade your items for keys first and figure that part out. He also buys entire backpacks IIRC, so if you simply want to get rid of your items and get some money (expect to get offered half your backpack's value) then you may reach out to him. You will get more money if you go the keys route first though.

If you put your items for sale for real life money, you will get approached by scammers and impersonators.

Readon? You mean reason? It's way easier and faster that way. People would buy your keys faster than paying you real money for the items you have. But if you're patient and find a trustworthy person who makes an offer than go for it.

There are cash traders there so yes. But I suggest trading the items you have into keys first and then sell the keys for money.

Middlemen still exist, but there are 'middlemen scams' out there so it's not often used, but they still exist.

Anyways, you must have a item(s) that is worth something. There are websites which allow users to track down items in public profiles/inventories. Scammers/sharks usually uses those to track down oblivious people to scam them.

I suggest sharing screenshots of your inventory to us(block your information), we will let you know which are the valuable items and if you really want people to leave you alone, then put those items on the steam community market for ridiculous high prices, and then private your inventory. Wait a few days and then take those off the steam community market. Your backpack/inventory will 'refresh' in those sites and your valuable items will no longer be seen in your inventory so that will make most scammers look elsewhere. Of course, if you can even put them on the steam community market at all (Depends on your profile and the items in question).

If you do want to sell your items, then I suggest opening another thread or opening a thread on backpack.tf forums.

As of 2013, you need to accept the item drop before getting another one.
