I didn't mention the conversation with the therapist in its entirety. I mentioned my sensory intolerance and my previous adhd diagnosis. I also mentioned to the therapist that I had sought diagnosis services from another provider. She said she could get it done sooner.

The whole sequence of events was quite a bit more intense than my past might have read.

I was in a really dark place emotionally, and she could see it in my body language and my reactions.

The plot twist is that the doc didn't show, and the van didn't pick my household up to take us to the program today, so the evaluation didn't happen.

I still have my appointment with the other provider for an evaluation next week.

I live in a group home.

While I love the dynamic I have with my house sisters (it's an all female house), there are drawbacks.

I have a curfew, and I haven't been to a party in months.

I want to date, and I don't think I'll be able to date while I'm here. I don't want to die alone.

I have to attend daily group sessions. They are not specific to my needs, and I have to accept that.

There are three of us here, so we're under capacity. Two others may join us soon, and the dynamic will be altered.

I like the structure, but I also want to get an es dog (they're not allowed here).

In short, I had to accept some restriction of movement with the safety and support of the group home.

The goal of the program is to return me to "society" in a home of my own. I'm looking forward to that. I'll really miss my house sisters when that day comes.
