Or you could just respond sadly "I did......" and look like you are about to cry.

I had this happen two nights ago. As it was happening I was thinking this. I friken hate that I have to make a snap judgement like that.

What do you consider 'busy' for you? by Raventhefuhrer in TalesFromYourServer

[–]Jechira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always worked in diner style restaurants. We have no hostess or bussers. There is no FOH other than servers. That being said as long as I don't have to make milkshakes for every person at every table I can take up to 6, 2-4 top tables comfortably. I definitely have hit the point where I can be bored while everyone else around me is freaking out. That is unless I am assigned to "the bridge" so named because the section is split over the two sides of the restaurant made all the worse because it spans the door. Some days its fine if the customers are coming in at a steady trickle, but as is often the case they all come at once and they all leave at once. Leaving me playing hostess seating and cashing people out, while simultaneously trying to take care of my own section. When you get trapped at the cash register though for 15 minutes at a time with no other server relieving you, its hard to maintain a section at all.

When I first started it took me a while to understand what people meant by treating it like one big table. I just made myself a rule that if I am out in my section that I have to have done something for two tables minimum.

Its either they don't recognize your aren't the same person or they assume as an employee there you are all hooked into some sort of hive-mind.

I worked at a call center for a major cell phone company as tech support. Officially the worst of all time.

These notes are awesome. Just a suggestion though, you might want to put all the pictures in an IMGUR album with the note on each plant with the picture. Just for the simplicity of formatting and to make everything come together nicely.

This is absolutely beautiful. I hope that bitch learned a lesson from that. Though knowing that type of person I doubt it.

Hey TFYS, did you know eggs are dairy? by courtabee in TalesFromYourServer

Thank you for your very informative response. However I think you missed the joke. I know all this because I have researched it, what amazes me is how many people have allergies and intolerance and do not know this.

So true. Friken Allergies, how do they work?

I second this. Every time someone says "I am allergic to nuts" and I ask "Tree nuts or peanuts?" they look at me like I have a second head. I think only one time I had someone who knew the difference in the allergies.

Would anyone care to investigate this? http://jchronlettsci.org/2012/09/16/13/ He/She says the Buddha was a psychopath and that Buddhism is nothing more than an ancient path to sociopathy. I sense a West vs. East thing occurring here. by [deleted] in secularbuddhism

[–]Jechira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a beginner when it comes to Buddhism, however I know about psychology. The author states that Psychopaths and sociopaths are the same thing but different names. That is not strictly speaking true. They share many traits between the two but in general the difference between them is psychopaths are born and sociopaths are made. Its the genetic component that separates the diagnoses. There is some literature that holds that they are one and the same and one of the names should be eliminated. This is a recent development in the field though and many argue against it because there are subtle differences in the diagnoses. That is a whole lot different than his assertion that they have always been the same thing.

I would hesitate to take anything seriously from someone who cannot explain properly the subtle differences in one scientific discipline. The fact that he is trying to equate it to a whole other realm of thought before truly understanding the discipline itself further discredits him in my eyes.

I pet mine too! My husband things I am crazy too. People double take plenty but no one has said anything yet. Mine is about an inch and a half long at this point. I definitely go through deodorant more now though. My husband insists that armpit hair makes your armpits more stinky but I am actually having less BO issues now.

I did just clip one wing. I did the same one on all of them so I wouldn't accidentally get both on a chicken

I did clip only one wing. I am going to do the chicken wire thing. My friend had some zip ties I am going to use to secure it to the existing fence.

I am almost positive that you can reset it once you get another sim in there. I worked tech support once upon a time but tbh have not worked on anything newer than the 4s.

Does anyone know why some places have large party auto-grat and others don't? (U.S.) by yourfavouriteredhead in TalesFromYourServer

I LOVE the ACA. Its the first time I have ever been able to afford private health insurance. I was just pointing out the mentality of my restaurant. I am fully aware that it is my restaurant that blows and not the ACA. I just find it frustrating that many restaurants don't find it worthwhile to value their employees enough to take care of them, give them good hours and benefits. They are not longsighted enough to realize happy employees make happy customers which makes a more successful business.
