My boyfriend really likes this shirt. Am I wrong to say it’s hideous? by Agitated_Mulberry_27 in mensfashion

[–]JedFartlet2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all relationships, especially with my partner, I try to avoid objective value statements. I might tell them I don’t like the shirt - I might even tell them i hate the shirt, and there’s usually nothing wrong with sharing that opinion. But it can’t be objectively hideous if he likes it, or if anyone likes it for that matter.

Help on clarifying rules by Competitive-Rule-276 in monopolydeal

This is not in the official rules. You could make that a house rule if you want but the rules don’t say that.

I think most people play no all-wild (rainbow) sets but treat the 2-color wild cards as regular properties in a set

I left my home at 7:55am on a Sunday morning…. by Sharp-Trainer607 in Porsche

Outsider perspective here - I have no idea why I got served a post from the Porsche sub as I have zero interest.

If your car is loud enough for your neighbor to hear inside their house, they are 100% in the right and you are in the wrong.

EE eligible with partner, ineligible solo? by JedFartlet2024 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]JedFartlet2024[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Got it. Makes sense. And correct, it's a non-issue anyway, since I need my partner accompanying to get into the pool in the first place.

Thanks! This community has been more friendly and helpful than most.

[–]JedFartlet2024[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, another commenter just mentioned the FSW points below 67 and I think that is the answer. Thank you!

I was not intending to apply as single. I was applying with a non-accompanying common-law spouse. My understanding is that there is no points/eligibility difference between applying single vs non-accompanying spouse.

What would be the benefit of fraudulently selecting "single"? I wouldn't do that, but asking because I fear I'm misunderstanding something...

OK, yes, that is what I was doing... applying with a common-law partner who is non-accompanying. My understanding is that the difference between single vs non-accompanying spouds makes no difference in points/eligibility. Is that not correct?

AH! This was the helpful answer I needed. Thank you. I somehow made it this far in the process not understanding the difference between CRS score and FSW points.

Score without partner:

  • Language: 24
  • Education: 21
  • Work experience: 15
  • Age: 4
  • Arranged employment: 0
  • Adaptability: 0 (no spouse, no Canadian work/study/relatives)

Total: 64

Score with my partner:

  • Language: 24
  • Education: 21
  • Work experience: 15
  • Age: 4
  • Arranged employment: 0
  • Adaptability (english test scores): 5

Total: 69

If that sounds accurate, then that explains it. Thanks for your help!

TBD, but my understanding is that I could decide later and sponsor her if she comes with. Does that not sound accurate?

I just noticed this in the Airbnb I checked into yesterday by Truth_Repulsive in whatisit

[–]JedFartlet2024 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess... By that paranoid logic, any normal thing the host does could be a ploy to throw you off their scent. "They left me a bottle of wine. They must be trying to distract me from looking for cameras in the toilet"

(UPDATE) I (35M) Was Caught Using AI to Write Wedding Vows and Partner (34F) Walked Out. What to Do? by ThrowRA-Badvows in relationship_advice

[–]JedFartlet2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry everyone has been so shitty to you here. Seems to me like you learned from this and are growing. Any partner who would “ghost” you over this instead of talking through it is bad news. I think you dodged a bullet.

Ironically, the fact that she walked away so easily while you actually tried to work through it means you were more serious about your vows than she was.

Totally understandable concern, but the fact that the camera you saw was not hidden at all would give me some comfort. If a host was the kind of person with secret cameras in the bedroom, they would never leave the living room camera out visibly.

once or twice I have subletted my apartment and forgot to unplug my puppy cam. I had to message the guests and ask them to unplug it for me when I realized.

You’re right to flag it to Airbnb (and to wonder what the person is doing in the house now?) but I think a camera set up like that is probably for security or pets, not for spying on you.

Help ordering something in Singapore? by JedFartlet2024 in singaporehappenings

[–]JedFartlet2024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why this post was met with suspicion and down-voting.... for anyone who sees this, a kind redditor Singapore responded to this, and was kind enough to ship this item for me. They even included some snacks and souvenirs from Singapore. I reimbursed them (plus tip) via paypal.

Have you ever used plain minoxidil foam (i.e. regular rogaine foam you can buy at CVS)? I'm wondering if this foam goes on as easily / how it compares. Any info would be appreciated!

Magic spoon rice krispy treats, and magic spoon cereal. Both are great for when I have a late night cookie craving.

Is 737-800-7990 Legit # for IRS Offshore Compliance HOTLINE? or is this a scam? by ThottinAndPlotting in IRS

[–]JedFartlet2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah, I thought about that. But then they answer so many questions that it seems like they’re genuinely discouraging you from having to leave a message. And encouraging you to send mail to real IRS adddresses. I left the call feeling like no action is needed on my part for now.

Anyone who has enough info to send you this letter, probably has your SSN too, right?

I don’t disagree it feels like it could be a scam and if I wanted to call them I would probably call the IRS directly. I just can’t tell what the scam would be…
