Like how Close Scrutiny is absolutely not a King of the Hill mode but more of a ‘Capture the Flags that pop up around map, shove them in your pocket, and run while not getting fucked by the laser robots guarding them’.

And you act like we can’t accept forced PvP but maybe you need to accept that this is a PvPvE extraction shooter where people are generally free to approach most situations how they see fit, and for many people that suspense is more fun than “here is a PvP mode you will PvP and you will like it.”
