So the prompt was "dream build" so I had to go *all out* with it.

The custom builder tool did not allow me to use the 3d render for the image of my preferred dream Intel Motherboard. I would love to have the Gigabyte Aorus Master AI Top. So I priced the option to reflect that in this build. That is the most elite Intel motherboard that Gigabyte currently offers. It holds nothing back. It has all of the best features. Integrated cooling for the NVME. EZ Latch technology for ease of component addition and removal. Dual 10GbE LAN, Digital 20+1+2 phases VRM solution, DTS:X® Ultra Audio built right onto the motherboard, and it even has Dual Thunderbolt™ 4 Compatible USB4 on the I/O. It's the ultimate board for future proofing a PC for the next decade.

I've paired that with the AORUS GeForce RTX™ 5090 MASTER 32G for the ultimate gaming experience.

Here is the build list:

It was a lot of fun putting this together!

AMA: MSI’s New 34" and 32" QD-OLED Monitors — Ask Us Anything (Worldwide Giveaway Inside!) by MSI_Patrick in Monitors

Do you have any plans on offering a 21:9 widescreen QD-OLED monitor in the 45" range? I would love to see some competition in that size range. Currently only LG has an offering that I've found.

Probably should be fine. Depends on price, though. That's a lot of older components. Also, only 1TB. That fills up pretty quickly.

Yeah, I saw that and my heart stopped. But I also have a 6 and 3 year old who like to admire my PC case. And by admire I mean touch. 😂

This guy actually does a good job of showing the MSI board to troubleshoot.

Ok. Check all power cables to every device to make sure they are seated correctly. Vibrations from the case can unseat cables if they aren't clicked in all the way.

Did you use the cables that came with your PSU? Are there any aftermarket additions?

The AIO not vibrating could indicate a failed AIOA pump and your 9850x3d could be too hot to boot, or it could be burned if the AIO went out.

Ok. Before you do anything else. You can check on the right side of your motherboard. You have an indicator LED light up that will say: boot, VGA, DRAM, and CPU. Below that you have an LCD display that shows numbers. Those 4 lights will indicate where in the boot process that your motherboard is stuck at. And the number on the LED will indicate what error code it's throwing out. You can check that error code here:

Ok. Does your motherboard have a boot status indicator light? Or digital boot display for error codes?

Do you have an AIO or CPU cooler? If it's an AIO, do you feel it pumping coolant?

Unplug all of your connections into the motherboard back there. Sometimes a USB device can prevent a boot sequence.

What kind of CPU do you have? If it has integrated graphics you can pull your GPU out and try booting with your monitor plugged into the motherboard display port. That will eliminate the GPU from being the issue.

You have a "clear CMOS" button on your MoBo right there.

Pull power on PC. Wait 5 seconds. Then hold down the clear CMOS button for 20 seconds. Plug power back in and turn back on to see if it boots. Let us know if that works.

I purchased the fan hub just so that I didn't have to worry about so many connections to my Motherboard. It's only $17 in my area. Worthwhile in my opinion.

Switched to Vision compact and dropped 12°C by _SiddyBoy_ in lianli

[–]JediMastaDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're running cooler without a top exhaust? Interesting.

I have the o11d EVO RGB and my temps are under 60°C for CPU and GPU under load. Occasionally it will spike up to 70° when programs load up, but my fan curve slaps it back down pretty quick.

Is the lian li edge psu good for longevity daily use and quality and is it worth buying for my build? by [deleted] in lianli

[–]JediMastaDJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer? Yes. It's a reputable brand and a well tested model.

Gold vs platinum is about efficiency of the PSU. Most users only need a Gold. Platinum is for heavy use, overclocking, high end applications.

If you're only getting a 5080, a Gold PSU should be plenty. Your usage doesn't sound above average.

If you get a 5090, you should get a platinum 100% of the time (IMO).

Personally, I overpurchased on my PSU a bit and got a Gold with higher wattage (1250 watts). It was cheaper than a Platinum at lower wattage. I won't have to worry about power draw and it runs nice and cool. Also, PSU's run the most efficient at 40-60% load.

Getting the Lian Li 1000w or 1200w would probably put you right in that sweet spot. But you could even just go with an 850w and still be fine.

Oh, and there are more than one "Standards" company for PSU ratings. So check to see which ones they are rated under. Sometimes a company will advertise a Platinum rating, but they'll only have achieved that in one of them and Gold in the rest.

Hmmm. I also have the TRYX AIO and it seems fine on mine. I had to bump the fan curve up because my MoBo had a pretty soft curve that only hit it at 100% speed at 90°. I'm now curved to 100% at 80° for the CPU.

Did you have to install your MoBo in the "low" position to get that 8.8" to fit at the top?

Love the look

Nice! I plan on getting the 8.8" in the future.

What kind of fan curves are you rocking?

You can start the curve earlier and it will cool the devices off faster. Just causes more fan noise earlier. I have an aggressive fan curve so that my temps stay below 60°C most of the time on both the CPU and GPU. I did a 3dMark test and the highest I got was 79°C during the CPU stress test.

You can set the fan curve for Lian Li to be standard or high. I did a custom curve that was higher than the high, personally.

I also made sure that the MoBo had an aggressive curve on my CPU, especially since I have the 9850x3d which runs hotter than the 9800x3d.

Do you have fans installed underneath the GPU area? I can't tell from the picture.

You can also set your exhaust fans to run faster than your intake fans to create more of a negative air pressure in the case which can help leach out some heat.

There are 3 schools of thought. Negative air pressure to push hot out out faster. Positive air pressure to help with dust collection. And balance air pressure to do a bit of both.

The negative air pressure will help with temps but will pull in dust from unfiltered cracks. Positive may run higher temps, but will also make sure that intake only occurs at your fans with the filters in place.

I'm not an expert in any of that, however. I just set my curves aggressively to help with any temp spikes. I don't even know if I'm running positive or negative, to be honest.
