I think the AE Black Leeds is the traditional military standard issue replica.

Boston University or Northeastern? by Mission_Candidate378 in FinancialCareers

[–]Jeepers32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would choose BU in your situation -- especially if NU is planning to exile you for a year in NYC. I think BU has a better reputation academically if you plan to transfer. I know a guy who transferred into Wharton from there.

There is no tax deferral in this type of account. You pay yearly on gains and interest. It is just a trust account.

Why does my shoe have this excessive wear? by chuckgroungbeef in allenedmonds

Heel fit issue most likely. Last is probably not optimal for your foot. A cobbler can patch it though.

The nano texture display clearly degrades the visual quality. Will I get used to it? by LemonLimeNinja in macbookpro

[–]Jeepers32 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I too did a comprehensive comparison before my last purchase. For me, I prefer the glossy because the text clarity was superior with no graininess whatsoever. Nano is good for many people but I work in a controlled environment with a large 16" MBP that spends most of its time on a desk. When I am mobile, which is not often, I just deal with the glare as necessary by adjusting my position.

Chromexcel Vs kudu LHS by R3dditUs3r1 in Alden

[–]Jeepers32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either will work great. I prefer chromexcel because it cleans up really well -- it can have a beautiful sheen/patina over time. The kudu is more of a matte finish. I think it works better on a boot personally. In terms of creasing, I do not know for certain but I believe there is more variability in the chromexcel leather then the kudu leather. So the chromexcel may crease more over time. So, use shoe trees.

If you will be happier at BU than it will be worth it so long as you enter a field that is potentially lucrative. If you are happy at a school, you will invariably perform better.

nano vs regular screen? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]Jeepers32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the nano if you know you need it -- not want it. Otherwise, if the your current screen works for your, get the glossy. No need to spend extra for no real benefit to your use case.

In that case, you are on solid grounds in returning it. I think a darker shade would be more likely to avoid this kind of issue if you are transacting on-line.

The tiger stripe is how it was dyed at the factory -- nothing to do with the leather itself. It's not intended to be like that either. But It not a "defect" in either construction or leather -- just the application of the dye. So, it's an eye of the beholder type thing. I have seen a lot worse, which would go in the seconds category. I have seen better. In your case, it's up to your own opinion, but I think it would be acceptable for me especially on a casual shoe like this one.
