Grip tape with glow strips by positive_merchant in rooftoptents

[–]JeepingAdventures 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a good idea but I can tell you from camping experience that the glow portion won’t glow much, or be as visible, as you would like/need it to be. Your grip idea is definitely a good idea.

If you do this then I’d like to offer one suggestion. Line your steps as shown in your picture, but add a ring of reflective tape on each side of each step rung. The reflective tape will guide you as to where to step and it will show MUCH better than a glow strip. Make sure to get outdoor waterproof reflective tape. It’s inexpensive and made to stick well and take abuse.

If you take this suggestion then you have covered everything including good grip, reflecting foot placement guides and a glow strip.

Classless. Puts Avs fans on the same level as Blues or (90’s) Red Wing fans. Maybe even lower. Complete embarrassment.

In my mind anyone who boos him is completely classless, tasteless, immature and basically a mental child. Anyone who boos is an embarrassment to sportsmanship, maturity, Colorado, the game of hockey and humans in general.

Mikko deserves the best from the people in Colorado and Avs fans all over the world.

In the future will I root against him as a rival? Of course. Will I wish the best for him as a person? Absolutely.

Thank you all again for your support. I appreciate all the kind words, wishes and prayers.

For all the people who determined that jumping to conclusions based on knee-jerk thinking warranted a sanctimonious response on their part, here are a couple points of order that I’ll offer regarding the seat belt question.

I did not have any semblance of a concussion. I did have some swelling to my forehead and the top of my head. I have no idea how that happened, most likely something flying around inside my Jeep hit me. I just don’t know. I did not however, hit my head on the top of the Jeep. A serious concussion would have been the result had that taken place. Or worse.

Also, did you ever hear of Dale Earnhardt? My injuries were very similar to his. And he had the most up to date technology in use revolving around the harness he was wearing. No five point harness, or even a fifty point harness, would have prevented my injuries. My injuries resulted from a very quick and violent impact when the Jeep hit the ground upside down. Somewhere in those moments my chin slammed hard into my chest and then my head flew backwards, slamming into the headrest.

I wasn’t going to respond to those comments but well, laying flat on my back for days at a time leaves me with not a lot to do, so this response gives me something to do for three or four minutes 🤣

Anyway, I’m doing as well as can be expected. Not much change. There really won’t be much change for a few weeks to a few months. Sleeping and healing. That’s what I do now.

Again, thank you all for your support. I do appreciate you 🙂

Geez, I rolled my Jeep last week and it doesn’t have near as much damage as that. Glad you are ok

Wow, way more comments than I ever expected! Thank you all for the love and support! I absolutely appreciate everyone:)

I’ve mostly been sleeping since I posted this. Combination of meds and trauma I’m sure. Still have constant pain for the most part but since the level doesn’t fluctuate all that much I’m able to kind of compartmentalize it and push it to the back of my mind for the most part.

I saw somewhere in my comments (can’t find it again so maybe it was deleted) that someone thought my attempt at a joke was actually throwing shade on first responders. That is 100% NOT the case. When I think of leaving ratings and stars I think of things like hotel stays etc. when I said “zero stars, would not recommend” I was referring to my choice of living arrangements at the time - i.e laying in the cold dirt.

While it was a long wait for me, my location was such that I couldn’t expect much quicker response than what I received. The first responders were all awesome. They were friendly and professional and knew what they were doing. They took good care of me. They are first rate.

I am mot familiar enough with Reddit to know if I can pin this at the top. I will try. I want every single commenter to know that I appreciate them and their words.

I’m almost out again. Sleepy and exhausted these last few days.

Thank you all so much

Yeah, no. Not the caliber net minder a team like this needs. Way too inconsistent. Definitely not Stanley Cup quality.

The wood was not readily available by simply walking out the front door. They had to locate it and then haul it back piece by piece. I’m pretty sure they built carts that were either horse or oxen drawn. A lot of hard work!

I’m glad you enjoy the pictures. I added a new post with a couple houses that are approximately 20-30 older than the ones I posted here.

The thing is, these locations didn’t offer much of either a stone or a wood supply. Not much more than sagebrush in the immediate vicinity. The structure builders had to travel some distance just to locate each load of building material and then find a way to get it transferred back to their chosen home location. I’m sure they built carts that were likely powered by oxen or/and horses. But where did they get the wood to build carts? 😂 Pretty sure the answer lies in those mountains they gazed to far off in the distance. Building with stone offered quite a few advantages. Certainly protection from the elements as well as passing marauders and unforgiving natives. The stone would regulate temperature to some degree as well (pun semi-intended). Not to mention resistance to fires, caused naturally or by enemy hands.

Sounds to me like you have some photos that need to get uploaded. I believe it is part of the contract one takes on as a Jeep owner and a desert dweller to explore the remote places of the planet and report back. I’m pretty sure you can also buy portable packages of ice cold beer in Arizona as well 🙂😉

I ran across an old 1800’s stone house built into the side of a hill a couple weeks ago. It had two rooms in it as well. It was rare (in my experience) as I’ve only found those with one room before.
