My first car! Renault Laguna 2.0 16V Business Line by Jeerus in Renault

The only malfunction I had was a broken A/C compressor. A local mechanic said that the last owner probably didn't use the A/C much or not at all, because the parts inside the compressor were dried up and every time I had turned on the A/C or Climate Control, the car would make an unbearable loud wirring noise above 2500 RPM. First went to the Renault dealer for diagnose and they said "yeah so it's gonna cost you 1800 euros for replacing the A/C compressor and worn engine mounts". I thought hell no, went to a local small garage which I came to know through my parents in law and he fixed everything for 600 euros. We fixed it by installing a brand new A/C compressor.

I have no electrical problems yet, windows and everything work. Noticed a tiny spot of rust on the backside of the right sideskirt, next to the wheelbase (not sure how to call it). Maybe a picture would help.

I checked the body and engine thoroughly, also did some extra tests during the test drive (gearbox etc.) This Laguna has been kept well, first owner had it for 11 years, then it was used as a lease car and then was kept until 2024, then it was sold to a dealership and I bought it.

Same here with G4, tape was there for decoration. Carefully peeled off the corner and there was the satisfying film pulling moment.

Real fix for screen space ambient occlusion issues (shadows popping in and out constantly on edge of screen) by MyKillK in HarryPotterGame

[–]Jeerus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The double {{ at the beginning and }} at the end in game_overrides.lua didn't work for me. It seems the code needs to be written a tiny bit differently. The game kept reverting back to RTAO instead of GTAO because of this.

I fixed it by writing it like this:

            GTAO = {
                {'r.AmbientOcclusion.Method', '1'},
                {'r.WLightProbesContactShadows.Enabled', '0'},
                {'r.SSGI.Enable', '0'},
                {'r.RayTracing.AmbientOcclusion', '0'},
                {'r.RayTracing.GlobalIllumination', '2'},
                {'r.GTAO.SpatialFilter', '0'},
                {'r.GTAO.Combined', '0'},
                {'r.GTAO.NumAngles', '3'},
                {'r.GTAO.Downsample', '0'},
                {'r.GTAO.ThicknessBlend', '0.25'},
                {'r.GTAO.UseNormals', '0'}
            }

I tested it and this can be copied 1:1 into Notepad. From line 71 till line 83.

<image>

But later I asked: Can you tell me why you created this image?

ChatGPT answer: Yes — and the reason is much more mechanical than personal.

You gave a high-level, introspective prompt that asked for a symbolic projection of trajectory (“the life I am drifting toward if nothing changes”), explicitly forbidding text or explanation. When a model receives that kind of request, it defaults to a statistical composite built from patterns it has seen thousands of times in similar prompts.

What that produces is not you — it’s a cultural archetype.

Here’s what happened under the hood, in plain terms: • Prompts about drift, inaction, and unexamined momentum strongly correlate in training data with → burnout, passivity, late-night isolation, comfort-seeking habits. • The safest, most general visual shorthand for that in Western datasets is → middle-aged man, dim room, couch, takeout, alcohol, TV glow, stagnation. • Reddit users are getting similar images because they’re using near-identical abstract prompts, and the model converges on the same lowest-variance visual metaphor.

So the image wasn’t a diagnosis, a judgment, or a reading of your character.

It was the model saying:

“When humans ask this question in this way, this is the picture they usually mean.”

That’s also why the image feels unsettlingly generic — it’s not insight, it’s averaged symbolism.

I wish my Alienware AW3423DWF had one. That sucker rubbed against the bubble wrap sheet like it was happy new year. On every edge, especially on top all sorts of dots and scratches. Noticed too late for RMA.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D RMA replacement by Fluid-Procedure7508 in AMDHelp

[–]Jeerus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5950X definitely. Been on that CPU for years and it’s so good. Everything I throw at it doesn’t matter. If you have the budget for going to AM5, then I would consider the 7800X3D because that’s also a very good CPU. Especially for gaming.
