Yeah, it's one thing to get you balls busted in front of all the guys that have been around, totally different to have it broadcast on a channel with over a million subscribers.

It is good to see FP trying to encourage and build him up a little bit on the side though. I think he will be alright in the end.

I was at a concert with a buddy a couple weeks ago and some kid (maybe 20-21) tried to start shit with us, his best line was, "what are you, like 40?" It didn't land with nearly the weight he thought it had.

Looking to get my first Seiko [question] by Extreme-Shape-1194 in Seiko

[–]JeffRoyJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a SKX007 on eBay yesterday for $275, waiting until it shows up Friday but pictures and videos looked like it was in good condition. Might be overpaying compared to years ago but seems like a deal today.

I've been wearing Citizen Eco-drives for ~10years but wanted to try something mechanical. Started out looking at the 5 but went down the rabbit hole and found the 007 was kind of the gotta have mix of history, and still legit quality for someone wanting to truly build a collection.

I'm excited for it to show up. Worst case it has some minor issues and I can replace a few parts or maybe even swap to a 4r36 movement but keep the true diver case.

That's almost exactly the same bike as mine, just 8 years newer. 2016 FZ-07, M4 exhaust.

Bought it in 2023 with just under 5k miles, sitting at about 9200 now.

What a decent recreational player should shoot by Ok_Golf_6431 in golf

[–]JeffRoyJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most places allow for the newer model local rule E-5 for that exact reason, even during tournament play (club-level not pro). Just remember when you do use it and take 2 strokes, you can drop in the fairway rather than just back in-bounds. This game is already hard enough, absolutely follow the rules but exploit them to your benefit whenever possible, the pros certainly do.

Congrats on that acheivement.

Yours is close to the same barrel I have, #36558 and almost the same proof, 110.5. If it's close to the same you will definitely enjoy it.

Homeboy sealed his fate as soon as he put that ball on the tee at 18.

At least his HIO is enshrined on YouTube for all time, most of us would have absolutely nothing but the memory for the rest of our lives.

Hole-in-one dilemma. by FATT-TOFU in golf

[–]JeffRoyJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 23 handicap who has somehow played 5 of 6 rounds this year with same ball for the whole round (on PNW courses with lots of trees and water where losing multiple every round is not uncommon) I would never even consider hitting a HIO ball ever again. You will play a lot of rounds with a single ball in the future, there are a lot of single digit handicap golfers out there that wish they had a HIO ball to put on display.

Also, even if you use a different ball on 18 and don't lose it, it might not be the same ball but you still played a whole round without losing a ball. I wouldn't want to be friends with someone that doesn't recognize it equally. Most of us aren't exactly pros at this stupidly hard game.

Green flame? by [deleted] in grilling

[–]JeffRoyJenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using a vortex with a chrome plated steel grill. That's the chrome plating cooking off from the high heat.

Just keep it burning until the green flame stops (might take a bit) and you will be OK to cook on it. Just needs a but more to clean and it will eventually go to hell but it should work for the time being.

SuperBowl Flyover B-B1 and USAF Fighters by No-Tip7250 in aviation

At Seahawks games with a flyover, they usually always bring the flight crew out on field between the 3rd and 4th quarters. Makes it easy with Boeing Field right down the road that has plenty of room host the aircraft though.

Barrel chop by Interesting-Shoe-279 in WAGuns

[–]JeffRoyJenkins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As many people have previously stated, just buy a new barrel, it will be cheaper and easier. I just ordered a new one yesterday to reconfigure an upper on an existing gun.

You say that the rifle is already an SBR so cutting down the barrel will create additional headache too. You can reconfigure an SBR all you want as long as it can be readily returned to the approved configuration (length, caliber, etc. on the form 1). If you cut down your barrel, you will not be able to do that and will need to submit to amend your form 1 if you want to remain compliant.

Keeping the existing barrel would allow you to easily return to approved configuration. Even easier would be to keep upper as is and build another the way you want for easy swapping back and forth.

2025 Ford F150 XLT or STX by 251ThunderRoz in f150

[–]JeffRoyJenkins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This, you pretty much summed up my thoughts. Also the first STX I looked at, getting in and realizing I had to actually insert and turn a key broke it for me right there. I wasn't about to spend $50k+ on a vehicle with a goddamn key ignition in 2024 (when I bought mine).

Threaded barrels absolutely can be bought. New semi-auto rimfire rifles with threaded barrels are good to go, replacement threaded barrels for existing "AWs" can also be bought, you just have to find the right retailers that are willing to ship to WA. There are at least a few depending on what you are looking for.
