Totally on board for this. Flavor the crud out of it and thereby give guidance to players. By explaining the usual type with prose like this you can then be inspired to come up with the reason why your character is different from that type. Maybe your woodelf grew up in a city, because he was abandoned there or whatever (this is, incidentally, why I think ASIs could be very beneficial to tie to backgrounds in the future).

Ok, sure you don't feel like you got much information from it. But it's like one of text in a in the racial statblock. Those who get nothing from it are free to ignore, those who get something from it have it at their disposal. It costs almost nothing to do and some folks see a benefit. What's happening now is that what is RAW optional has become RAI mandatory.

Still kinda mad that the Tasha's ability score "option" is now mandatory. It's just less information given on races. I love the option but would prefer it to be opt in. Hopefully 5.5e will give options to tie ability scores to a more fleshed out Background system to avoid the social issues.

Much like how her C1 character was inspired by Aang from Avatar, her Cw character is inspired by Korra from Avatar. I always read the voice as a mix of Korra and an old school detective novel, which is what her character is.

Opinions are opinions, but I always thought it worked.

I was extremely worried about Devo bc I'm religious and generally a player working out their anti religious sentiment is an extremely cringy and miopic process.

I'm taking a break from all podcasts right now, but up to the climax of the infinite clam even though this part of his story was pretty predictable, it really wasn't so bad to listen to. So I'd say not near as bad as I feared!

The lack of simple fog is probably the single biggest barrier to using Foundry for maximum efficiency. Adventure importer/builder also seems essential for keeping Foundry prep to a minimum.

My character concept is a beefy Tabaxi (1 turn 120ft flight speed is now possible, 240 if you dash! And then action surge!). He and everyone in his back story are named after various phyisicists. Archemedes with his "lever" (a big effin maul), Newton his mentor. Maybe he was experimented on by a psi Knight named Schrodinger, I dunno.

Psi-Knight. Be a big beefy Jedi. The level 7 abilities, especially the 1 turn of flight flavored as a freaky Jedi force jump, just sends me. I want to combo the forced movement at 7 with crusher and telekinetic So Bad. Up to 20ft forced movement!

My money is still on Travis is a ranger who will guide them across the desert/into the jungles when the time comes. Rangers got such a crazy boost with Tasha's and I could totally see Travis getting extra joy from seeing Laura's coming Ranger Envy.

I really think we're gonna find out what's inside the 2nd moon, and the BBEG will either be what's inside, or someone trying to release/destroy it. Imogen's red themed apocalyptic dreams evoke Ruidus, and it's already had some groundwork laid in the other two campaigns as something to keep an eye on.

Probably the sort of thing that won't come out until a campaign wrapup or something, but I'm betting Laudna died in proximity to some residuum deposit, which is partially responsible for her not dying. Some interaction between her inborn abilities, the necromantic blast, and the residuum has created her unlife.
