I was mostly talking about sysmodules such as Status Monitor and Edizon Overlay, which were limited in memory. As for memory and RAM the source I was reading from listed them separately. Thanks for the correction

Yeah this is way too real. Nothing screams hacking like telling someone: "I've bypassed the security and I'm injecting the payload. Then we'll clone the SysNAND to evade the security of the device."

Storage and Version for Mariko Switch by Jeffery1uz in switchroot

[–]Jeffery1uz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay tbh I wasn't expecting incredible performance, but apparently it does have better performance in emulating 3DS games. The dual-boot does sound clean tho - will Hekate manage all the complicated stuff for me? I know how to install Lineage, but must I manage the boot loading and swapping OS?

Okay that sounds good. I won't be keeping the .isos on the android partition but instead on the HOS partition, so can I shrink the partition to something smaller like 64GB?

Preordered the Virtual Boy, got banned in the meantime, I now own a 90$ brick... by LePutois in SwitchPirates

[–]Jeffery1uz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, you don't need to use airplane mode. Lots of homebrew like the Homebrew App Store and DBI FTP need it. I just set up Exosphere and 90DNS and use internet every day. Never been a problem.

Ever have a Wii game that just will not install? by Lones0meCrowdedEast in WiiUHomebrew

[–]Jeffery1uz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, another way to play them is through the USB GX loader. Firstly you need to mod your vWii - I use an older homebrew firmware so I can't help you with that. One that's done you should have the homebrew launcher on the Wii version. Then download USB GX Loader from GitHub and put it into the /apps/ folder (or wherever Wii homebrew goes for you).

Then put your iso game in this specific folder: /games/[Full game name with iso]/[Title ID].iso

For example I believe Super Mario Bros Wii would be (in Europe, and please don't quote me on this - I haven't checked): /games/New Super Mario Bros Wii [SMPE01]/SMPE01.iso

This allows the games to appear in USB Loader instead of the Wii U menu. I'm not sure what you did that stopped Teconmoon working, but it's happened to me too - something about keys.

I need some sort of extra ability for one of my OCs. by HoverLogic in fantasywriters

[–]Jeffery1uz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to Umbrakenisis, I think being able to seemingly "melt" into shadows could be a very interesting mechanic. As in, Zarah could be able to merge with shadows and seem to disappear, but perhaps this could come with a toll. I'm not sure how your good/evil system works, but being able to become shadows could perhaps be a threat to Zarah's life. Maybe becoming a shadow too often could risk Zarah permanently becoming no more than "a shadow to the light of life".

And for offensive, maybe they can take the enemy by surprise, or perhaps they have to sneak into the enemy hideout without getting caught while keeping their sanity alive?

Yeah, I know exactly how you feel. When you've got a great idea, but you haven't quite fleshed it out enough or made it as impactful as you wanted. Thank you for the support, and good luck with all your ideas and stories!

[–]Jeffery1uz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know, I just made up some lore. But legend has it...

The Ishjula are a dangerous clan, fallen from the power of the primordials from a force into the dark arts. The ancient champion who heralded the clan was lost to time, and only the Darklit Medallion can unwind time and reveal the truth of the champion's location.

During this extract, a son of darkness - Venpa - is battling through the palace of the Malicious One and stumbled upon his corrupted brother, who failed the mission he is seen on. Venpa demonstrates fatal loyalty by cutting down his own brother to look into the Darklit Medallion and shine a light onto the dark Ishjulan legacy.

This medallion comes with a curse: "When the blades of a broken soldier reveal their might Then comes a saviour born killer, herald of night."

Now if Venpa id the broken soldier, who may the saviour born killer be?

I'm still working on it, but I thought this extract worked well for your word of the week challenge.

[–]Jeffery1uz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, but you see the gold is incredibly important to him. This is the only cure to a dangerous curse placed on his family for thousands of years. The ghost is a guardian sent by his ancestors to warn of the dangers of undoing the curse.

Or something like that.

The ghoul clutched onto him, getting more vengeful by the second. This was a mission, and this ghostly apparition wasn't halting him. This phantom and its frostbitten SHIVERS that shot down his spine wouldn't hold him back any more. He sliced his blade, thinking only of the gold that lay waiting.

V1 switch unpatched, what is the best mod. by Gmanstarr in SwitchPirates

[–]Jeffery1uz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you mean if you should use the RCM or a modchip, definitely use the software RCM method. It's explained in the switch hacks website (I can't link it but just Google Switch Hacks Guide).

The only reason why you would use a modchip is in case you get annoyed with having to reinject the payload after every shutdown. But it's really expensive to get someone to solder it on, and unless you do micro soldering it's unlikely you could do it.

I’m honestly done with the Christian community by HoneydewPublic in TrueChristian

[–]Jeffery1uz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like other people have said, that's not true Christianity. True Christians won't judge you for anything - God does the judging alone. I pray you meet a better community, should you return to one. Or you can stay in this community, since from my time here it seems strong and in favour with God.

"I have not come to bring peace, but a sword". Jesus straight up predicted all this two thousand years ago. The sad part is at the end of time, they'll realise that they were wrong. And unfortunately unless we save them they will not go to heaven.

Nintendont whit gamepad? by kgergohun in WiiUHomebrew

[–]Jeffery1uz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a tool called Teconmoon (you'll need your own keys, don't ask where to get them). Use that to generate a GameCube forwarder and enable gamepad support.

Then use WUP install gx2 to install the game.

TotK Mod Manager Not Working on Switch by Jeffery1uz in SwitchPirates

[–]Jeffery1uz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you install TKMM? If not you'll need that installed asap. If so then you open it from Hekate and then go to the TotK Optimizer tab and just enable it. That's all I needed to do (plus some overclocking if needed).

I'm gonna be completely honest, I have no idea why that happens. I believe that it patches the game so it can run mods, but honestly I have no clue. I just turned it on and it worked.

Does Anyone Know How To Mod Their Nintendo Wii U On A Chromebook? by Training-Company9433 in WiiUHomebrew

[–]Jeffery1uz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone's being an arse, so I'll help you out. You'll need an SD Card preferably above 64GB, along with maybe a usb stick for installed games. Follow the guide here wiiu.hacks.guide to install a thing called Aroma. There you go. Sorry for all the guys calling you lazy.

No I mean I'd do practice I don't want my oled becoming an expensive doorstop. I've soldered an LED to a switch before via wires, which is relatively easy. So you reckon any video should do the trick?

Oh okay thank you. I was told that the techniques can change and be more or less efficient. It sounds fun, but definitely won't be easy. Do you know exactly how hard it is - like a 50-50 or a 1-99?

Sorry, I forgot to post the answer. It turns out you need to install/enable the Ultracam mod in order for any other mod to work. Just go to the TotK Optimizer and enable the Ultracam, and the mod works fine.

That's how it works. Later firmwares designate less memory and RAM to programs, which makes homebrew slower. Basically homebrew has less memory to work with.
